Astro Pneumatic ONYX Model 1822 1/2 Drive Nano Impact Review & GIVEAWAY

In for the win? For real, that'd be super handy. Imports don't have a lot of room in the engine bay.

1st Annual Twertsy's Integrated Tool Swap

Shoot, I'd love to come and swap a few things, but 750mi is a bit too much of a hike.

    Ratchet repair kits ?

Why? You could have asked SK for the rebuild kit and they would have shipped it for free.

    Free Fluke I-phone 5/5s case

The promotion ended at the end of 2014, per the T&C page on fluke.com. The Fluke Connect Case no longer appears anywhere on the site as an accessory either. At least, not that I could find through conventional means.

Superlube Gease Or Oil For Ratchet Luberication

I use SuperLube because it's what SK ships with their rebuild kits. The little packets were even labeled with it for a while. It works nicely in my C-man ratchets too. A little goes a long way.

    The repurposing thread

Rear brake tool made from an old distributor shaft/end key and a hunk of a 5/8" bolt I had laying around. My welding is terrible, but it's held for every use so far....

    Buying a secondhand torque wrench

If it seems reasonable, give it a shot. Torque wrenches, if not massively abused, are usually just fine. If you're worried, check it against a known good one, or have it calibrated.

    Buying new vs used tools?

I but used usually. I stick to brands that have lifetime warranties, and are high quality, well built, and usually USA COO. Minus a warranty, the tool either needs to have specific value to a need I have, or it needs to be built like a brick ********* and will never break. If it does, it needs...

Need 1/2 Torque Wrench (0-150 ft lbs) - Any recommendation?

$20-30 at HF for the digital meter, or a little more to Team Torque, and your worries are solved.

    S & K 45170 Ratchets

Good work! Shoot a few pics and maybe we can help get to the bottom of the fine toothed feel. If the cores can be swapped, it's a wear feeling, not actually finer tooth count. Clean up the cores, you don't need to pull the pawls just yet, and play with them a little. And by all means, keep...

Need 1/2 Torque Wrench (0-150 ft lbs) - Any recommendation?

I'm lucky to have occasional access to a calibration machine, so I check mine that way. That said, I've never, not even once, needed to calibrate one. Not the 60 year old Torqometers I buy on eBay, not the HF cheapies, not my old Craftsman bending beam.

    S & K 45170 Ratchets

I (tooting my own horn a little) did a youtube vid of a teardown and rebuild of a 1/2" SK ratchet that may help you. The only difference for you is that your spring pin should go back in from the top without the gyrations I had to do on mine (the whiffs and then the side insert of the pin), if...

Need 1/2 Torque Wrench (0-150 ft lbs) - Any recommendation?

Buy a used Snap-On TQ-150 on eBay for $40. Odds are, like all the old Torq-o-meters that have passed through my hands, they're still close enough to calibrated to be fine, and they're tanks.

    S & K 45170 Ratchets

^ X2 I've brought a bunch of SK ratchets back from the dead with a combination of freeing stuck cores with disassembly and rebuilds, replacement pawl kits from SK, and replacement core kits from SK. I've never found one with a worn handle, just worn core or pawls.

    S & K 45170 Ratchets

The 45170 has had the same tooth count since it was first introduced in the 50s. I'll add to the disassemble, relube, and reassemble advice. It'll make them the same, or it will reveal the heavily worn one.

    S & K 3/8' Set

Nice set. Thoughtful neighbor. Keep that ratchet clean and lubed and it should outlast your grandkids.
