Is Sears phasing out the Grip Latch line of toolboxes?

Pretty sure they're going away. The griplatch intermediate cabinet was on sale at the end of 2014, and has disappeared from the site as of the second week of January.

    dpaton's SK addiction

twertsy, sorry, no proto here  If you mean the old sockets on the 2nd page, they're going to get flipped. I'm not collecting things I won't use actively, and those lack both the socket shape and the size range I need. Plus, several are cracked. I appreciate the offer though!

    Impact wrench socket recommendations

Agreed. The secret to HF sockets is to only buy ones stampd CR-MO. If the stamp says CR-V put them down and walk away.

What is your view on Magnetic Spark Plug Sockets

The coil that generates that 30kv is wrapped around the top of the plug, and if there exists a magnetic gradient there already, it skews the flux in the coil and the ignition system gets either backfed voltage or it won't develop enough voltage to kick off the fuel charge in the cylinder.

attn. dewalt: how to keep and make your cordless users happy

This. There is literally no technical reason a functional adapter could not be created at a viable price. Especially given the installed base of products. I happen to own a company that develops products on a consulting basis. We make evaluations like this all the time. It's a slam dunk...

    PVC pipe air line explodes

Temperature derating for PVC isn't discussed much but it should be. At 140f, it's 20% the strength as at 70f. http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/thermoplastic-pipes-temperature-strength-d_794.html

SK Sockets, is this a good deal?

Check on ebay. There are a few of those sets up right now, and they sometimes finish under $100. I bought mine used a while back with a broken case hinge for $75.

    dpaton's SK addiction

No picture for this one, but I came into a box of broken SK ratchets recently. Some were stuck, some freewheeled. I sent SK customer service an email on Saturday night with the story, the model numbers, and my address and got an email back this morning saying my rebuild and repair kits (a mix of...

need 1/2" drive deep well socket recommendations

I'll throw in a (biased) vote for SK. As for the need for 1/2" deeps in such small sizes, I've run into oddball fasteners, odd reach situations, and just plumb stuck bolts that ended up cooperating only when faced with a 1/2" system and a lot of bicep. Not very often, but once and a while they...

    Gel-Gloss for headlights?

I've used it for years on plastic and metal. It works like a fine grit polishing compound, and it works very well, especially on surfaces like gel-coat and gloss finished plastic.

Got creative with the CNC today

I love the idea, but I'm also hoping for something for a super shallow drawer (1 3/4") that can hold a set from 8-32mm that's not the Ernst low profile rails. I only have 1 4" drawer and that's reserved for sockets right now.
