It's a little thicker than my thickest putty knife. I have an old red devil made in usa that is very hard to flex but it does bend ever so slightly. This one is steel, and has no flex, but yes, only slightly thicker than the red devil.

BTW, very heavy box. Even with nothing in it. Nice leather handle but can't imagine carrying this around with tools in the drawers. Was always on dad's workbench, stationary.

Thank you Jim, for the valuation info. I'm guessing the Stanley is not a 750 as it simply says "Stanley", and under that, "made in USA" That's about the only place the 750 would go, right?
