I put a bead of hot melt glue on both sides where the wire attaches to the hub. Pretty much eliminates the problem of wire flying off.

I have found that even in an unopened tube the silicone will eventually harden and be unusable.

Could be, but I'm not sure anything could fix this guys problem for obvious reasons.

I've been using a 12vdc 'wall wort' type power supply for years to power the car radio I have setting on the shelf in the garage.

When I had my garage built (40'x24') I asked the contractor if he was planning to put in rebar - just to get his reaction. He said he would never even think of pouring a garage floor and footers without rebar.

This is what I used in my garden to add an additional hose connection about eight years ago. Still working fine. You only have to dig a hole big enough to get your hand in. Glue on the saddle tap first and then drill through the T into the pipe.
