Lug nut thread lubrication - what do you use?

I always put a little anti-seize on the wheel bolts and wipe most of it off. And also some on the wheel/rotor mating surfaces. All my cars except the Ford Ranger use wheel bolts instead of lug nuts.

    Guettl A/C

Thanks for the info. I kind of thought that Guettl might not be a mfg, but they advertise (on the local radio station) about how they sell Guettl A/C systems and make it sound like its their own brand of A/C. Think I'll stay away. Anyway I'm always suspect about 'discounts' too.

    Guettl A/C

My A/C is about 14 years old (Mfg. Bryant). I have two outside condensers. Working OK but I'm thinking about proactively replacing it this winter. A company named Guettl has been advertising here quite a bit lately with some apparently good discounts. I have never heard of this make of A/C...

Why are driveway culverts so narrow?

Your description of a culvert is exactly correct and what any civil engineer would use. What is being called a 'culvert' here is as far as I can tell, a ditch used for run off next to a drive way. Maybe it's a regional thing, but not normal description.

    Chemicals to Kill Bamboo

At my previous house I had a stand of bamboo about 50 ft long and 3 ft deep and 10ft high boarding my neighbor. I wanted to get rid of it because it made such a mess dropping leaves on both of our properties. I cut the bamboo down to ground level but within a week it had already grown back a...

Anyone Here Doing Their Own Auto AC Work???

I have replaced A/C compressors in the past. The A/C in my Ford Ranger started blowing increasingly warmer air a couple of weeks ago. Today I replaced the high pressure line from the compressor to the condenser that had a leak, vacuumed the system and recharged with freon. Now getting 45deg...

I've been using the Mityvac for changing brake fluid and bleeding for many years. Foreign, domestic, ABS, non-ABS - works great every time. And you don't need a helper.

Any I am crazy to replace my main panel by myself?

On my previous house, I replaced my main panel myself. I did it 'hot' (no permit). The old panel had some funky Bulldog breakers, a couple of which were difficult to reset, plus I needed a couple of new circuits. I made sure I had everything I needed ready before I started to keep the time...

Squirrels under the shed. It's personal this time...

We have dozens of them here, and hundreds of holes on our five acres. Can't really get rid of them, but I try to keep them in check with poison bait stations. They have a population explosion every so often. :willy_nil

    Cordless string trimmer recommendations wanted

I have a WORX 20v battery trimmer that I like. Been using it about 4 years. Battery lasts a good long time and has good power. I also have several other WORX garden tools that use the same battery.
