    my house was built in the 50s, had 2 prong outlets, however, there was a ground wire running to every box, I was lucky enough that the ground was still long enough, so I popped the outlets, unscrewed the ground wire from the box, wired in the 3 prong outlets, and all done

    yes, but keep in mind most also have a resistance coil for aux heat when the outside temp drops low enough that the heat pump is ineffective

    Steel square tubbing in concrete, flush with ground, 4x4 fence posts w/breakaway feature(highway signs have holes drilled through them)

    correct.....I know a guy in detroit that after a couple break-ins of this type, installed a swinging guard rail locked to steel posts sunk 10' into the ground at either side of the door...again, won't stop someone determined, but will slow down amateurs
