I've seen both up close, and personally, while the HF box isn't bad, I'd personally rather have the Matco. Much better quality IMHO. Plus depending on how old the Matco is, it probably has character. :)

Another vote for leaving it charged. I do turn off the ball valve at the tank, turn the compressor off, drain the water and let the air out of the hoses, but the tank is full all the time. I do use summertime air year round though...I like the smell better.

Quality cabinets and metal/material racks, things get messy quick when there's no place to put anything. Oh and FULLY STOCKED BOLT BINS. Nothing worse than hunting for 4 stupid elusive bolts you need to finish something and all you can find is one size up or down or 1/4 inch too short.

x2. I don't even keep a "regular" 3/8's ratchet in my box anymore. I have long, long flex and stubby's. As a matter of fact, the only ones I own are cm raised panels, and those have been sent to the house set. I do own mostly "regular" length 1/4" though, and one 1/2" that I just recently...

I like the knurled handles on the Macs, I have both snap on and mac, and rebuilt some of both. The macs feel better to me though.
