Tool chest review - Sears, Tractor Supply, Lowes, Home Depot, Harbor Freight

Once I get my box in place it will not move I’m building a shelf over it for storage. To me the side box is not worth the money. They are $219 and I can buy the 44” right now for $349. I would buy 2 of them before I bought a side box. Im torn between the 44 or 56. I like the idea of deeper...

Tool chest review - Sears, Tractor Supply, Lowes, Home Depot, Harbor Freight

Has anyone compared the 56” to the 44”? I was leading toward the 44” but I like the idea of the deeper drawers of the 56”. My wife said just get the 72” and call it a day but the 72” feels cheaper and flimsier to me then the 56” or 44”. The 56” seemed to pretty sturdy to me but I curious what...

    propane tanks

Thanks for all the advice. I finally got a call back today from the propane company. They want $600 to tap into my house tank since it is 150 feet from the barn. I am not a fan of paying $600 just to have the line ran to the barn. The lady I was talking to then said please hang on a minute...

    propane tanks

I am getting ready to install a 75k heater in my 40x40x12. The barn has 2 insulated 10x12 overhead doors, 1 service door and zero windows. I had tyvek put on the walls and roof before the metal went on. I installed R36 on the ceiling and R13 on the walls before I installed the metal on the...

    Best Reciprocating saw blades

Thank you all for the response. I may have to order dome Lennox and Freud Diablo. I am currently rebuilding my dads 55 Chevy that he has owned since 1964 so most of my cuts right now are sheet metal but I normally I use them for .095-.120 round bar stock and stuff like that.

    Best Reciprocating saw blades

Who makes the best blades? I usually buy Milwaukee blades but a buddy of mine gave me a fire/rescue blade and it was amazing. I can’t find them around me so I was curious what everyone uses and likes?

    Creeper

Ok I did a quick search and didn’t really find anything about creepers. I finally got my shop built and am starting to fill it. I’m looking for a good heavy duty creeper. My brother has a snap on and it’s amazing but I really don’t have/want to spend $300 for a creeper. If I have to I guess I...

    Digging post holes....

I have used this style before and they are easy. I dug 60-8" holes and 14-12" holes in one day when I installed my fence. When the ground was level I would pin it so it wouldn't pivot left and right. When you starter the hole you want the auger facing into the machine just a few inches...

    Installing a heater

It’s being given to me used from a family member and I don’t have it in my possession yet so I don’t know what model it is for sure. I was just asking for opinions so I have a idea on where to run my wire. He is suppose to bring it to me in a few weeks when he comes into town.

    Installing a heater

I just built a 40 x 40 x12 pole barn with 2- 10 x 12 insulated doors and one metal service door. The front of the barn is laid out like this 2’ of wall then my service door then 3’ then a garage door then 4’ then another door then 4’ to the corner. The walls were wrapped in house wrap and...

Single bubble or tyvek for wall wrap?

You are correct sir. I would love to have the whole barn spray foamed but I decided that I could save that money and add square footage to the barn instead.

Single bubble or tyvek for wall wrap?

Let me start by saying I know nothing about construction so that's is why I read and listen to every option I have. Well here was my concern. If I don't wrap the walls and I install batt insulation I was afraid it would start to mild due to moisture between the metal and insulation.

Single bubble or tyvek for wall wrap?

So I'm about to send the down payment for my 40x40. I asked the builder to install house wrap on the walls before he installs the metal outside. He quoted me $900 for single bubble or $450 for tyvek. My question is which is better? I'm going to put up insulation and metal interior walls. I know...
