The thumb wheel on my Klein adjustable wrench is much thinner where it engages the sliding jaw than a typical USA made wrench. The rest of it feels pretty substantial. For sure not made here judging by its appearance.

If you have a flea market around you that's the place to pick up used U.S.A. made wrenches. For no good reason I have a large pile of these knuckle busters but I pretty much only use the 6" or 8" ones occasionally. Most obtained from the flea. All of them from the U.S.A. Some require some TLC...

Amazon sells long box wrenches in a case (performance style). Made in Chiwandia. I paid $47.00 for a set of metrics. Can't advise on durability though.

I can't remember what tool i bought but the instructions advised to, "not leave in the sunshine place".

This isn't exactly timely but just got an old 11" 3/8 drive extension with an upper case "E" stamped near the logo. Appears to have a natural steel finish. Date code chart lists "E" as emergency (40's era)? So it just doesn't pertain to ratchets.

I think you are right. I have an open end mongrel wrench set stamped Martin and some stamped Fairmount (got it 30 yrs ago). Some were chrome and some were industrial black.

They're definately for lug nuts with the stamped steel covering . Once the covering falls off, these sockets make it easy to remove the lugs. I have three different sockets with 6 different sizes.
