My Porta Band carrying case latch broke

Grab some wire the same size and bend a latch up. Sounds like a fun project.

    Latest Road Find

I can think of three different times I 'risked' my life to grab a tool. Stanley drift punch middle of an intersection, craftsman deep socket entrance ramp no shoulders and 50 or so craftsman sockets scattered over a 2 lane busy highway...it was exhilarating!

    Chainsaw sharpener!

I bought a chain saw sharpener from HF but mine was made in Italy. I've had it for well over 20 years and it still run quiet and smooth. It's a shame that HF went full bore Chiwandia.

    Maglites love hate

I found the quality of mag-lites had dropped. They also took forever to get into LEDs. I liked their mini-mags but the flashlight heads seem to turn too loosely. I found the quality and light intensity of the streamlights to be good and the flashlights are very durable.

    8 point socket question

Walton tool used to make tap holders 'type A' they called them. Now they just make the 'type B' holders with two set screws to retain the tap. Very expensive too. I don't know if they make them in the size you need.

    USA made screwdriver stank

I love the smell of CM tool handles, but only the flat blade screwdrivers seem to have that strong odor. Strangest topic I ever commented on lol.

Socket extensions - any quality differences

Snap on has extensions that are wobble/nonwobble. I don't care for them as they transition from wobble to non wobble at times when you are using them.

Harbor Freight - Inside Track Club???

I used to be a member years ago when H-F still sold some American made/name brand tools. For example, I got good deals on B+D pro-grade power tools.

How does Harbor Freight's Hydrostar drain snake compare?

Please keep in mind if you buy a used drain snake, it's been in other folks 'bodily fluids' and such. You should sanitize the cable and/or toss the rawhide gloves after using them. Hosing off the cable isn't enough.
