i'd get a rethreading set in addition to a tap and die set. i wouldnt want to subject a nice sharp tap or die to cleaning all that rust and thread filling **** that gets on a bolt or nut. i use the rethreaders unless they just arnt doing the job. dont forget to lube it up first.

snap on has a set for about 450.00$ its in their current catalog. dont have stock number handy but im sure its on their website

Here's a tip: Your Snap On dealer should warranty damaged or worn out casters and drawer slides. I realize this doesn't really apply to your situation but something to keep in mind

I get American made Vise-grips at my local flea market. Don't reject them if rusty, dirty, chrome peeling. u can get new springs for them if needed over the internet. Examine the teeth carefully. Are the teeth worn (useless) or just filled with gunk. I've seen the metal fatigued above the joint...

My advice is to keep aimlessly driving around until you run across the rest of the sockets you need.

Couldn't agree more. loud motors, cheap plastic hoses. Tippy. I've seen two shop vacs at the curb this week waiting for the garbage man to pick up.

My set came with a 3/8 drive insert to use conventional sockets. hopefully the set you buy has the same attachment. These tools aren't as useful as they may seem and do not replace deep sockets, but for $20.00 i say why not!

So carbon scraper. So 1/4socket, junk adh wrenches,channelock adj wr, so screwdriver, Craftsman sockets spread all over the intersection, yes I picked them all up, stanley punch, open end wrench after pulling it out of my tire. Of course numerous scattered sockets here and there. Hand drilling...

Going back some years but I got new vise jaws from a Wilton vise that came without for $24 from Wilton directly. Quick service too..they are standing up to whatever I throw at it.

I got a set of Craftsman drivers made by excelite in a plastic case. The inside of the case smelled like vomit but after 40yrs or so it its toned down some.
