I have a few of those same Youngstown cabinets with the chrome handles as above. I also have a slightly different style with rounded corners. All the houses in my neighborhood had metal cabinets when they were built in the 50's. Need to get some pics.

Looking great, I would go for the extra bracing as mentioned above, you can get some crazy weather out there in the Thumb. I worked in Cass City for a year, I could not belive how much different the weather was an hour away from my house. There was a lot more wind and snow.

Looks like all you need is a few tubes a cauk and some paint to finish it up. Looks good to me, way to recycle. That roll up door would be hard to insulate, mabe a few sheets of styrofoam insulation up against it when its closed would help.

Well, I would get a materials list together and if infact it could be built for under 3500.00, I would build it myself. I am cheap also and cant see paying to have doen what I can do myself.
