    Maxjax Installs: Post Here

Good eye spotting the exige in the background. I hadnt tried to lift it yet. As you know it is a pain to lift because you cant do it without removing the rear panel. You prob also know they make a lift point kit to make it possible to do a two post lift without taking off the diffusere. Anyways...

    MaxJax Installed!

I think Wej-it would roll their eyes at the suggestion of a coffee filter as a installation aid as well. Full disclosure, I did ask Dannmar and they said 90 ftlbs but had no response to my concerns about pre load. Guy was very nice, but basically said, dunno but 90 will work . I

I think I am at 127 inches from the outside of the base plate. The manual recommends 115 for small cars which seems too narrow to me.

    MaxJax Installed!

No science involved with the 50ftlb, it seems tight enough for them not to accidentally come loose and to make sure all the fasteners are pre loaded. I have discussed this with several of the other MEs around the office and we all agree that their doesn't seem to be a good reason to excessively...

    MaxJax Installed!

very nice install, I like the hydraulic line routing. My diverter block weeps a bit as well. I have an MX6 version, I never realized that the carriage assembly is substantially different. Quick question, how do you feel about the 90ish ftlb setting for the anchors in the epoxy install? The...

    Advice Buying lifts

sorry, I have zero experience with alignment devices. Most of my vehicles are EYE-lined :). It seems like all of the big rigs I see are hunter. I just think that alot of pro shops sell used stuff when they close thier doors or upgrade to the latest and greatest. I am in the greater Houston area...

    Advice Buying lifts

There always seems to be alignment machines and tire mounting/balancing machines available on craigslist around here. my buddy bought a snap on tire mounting machine for a few hundred. You might be able to get some professional quality machines on the cheap if you are a little patient and are...

    battery tender charger

I had a battery tender branded unit fail on me several years ago. Now I keep my two hobby cars on these super cheap black and decker units which seem to work well https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0051D3MP6/?tag=atomicindus08-20

    Maxjax Installs: Post Here

Sorry for your troubles and am glad you have a nice thick fool proof pad going forwards. I think we would all really like to see pictures to think about the failure mode. Thanks in advance for posting them. Quick question, was the front of your baseplate a bit off the ground due to leveling...

    Shim Unbolted Edge of MaxJax?

Any thoughts on this I am still overthinking my maxjax install. I have a small gap under the front of my baseplate if I install shims under the bolts to make the posts perpendicular ( gravity reference bubble level). I think this must be quite common. If you look at the calculations on the...

MaxJax Transport, Install, Impression, and Comparison

I want to follow up in case anybody finds my question in search. Danmar called me and recommended the coffee filter method. I think that would work fine but It still didnt feelright to me. Thankfully the Radar estimate of my slab thickness was a bit conservative and only 2 of the 10 holes poked...

MaxJax Transport, Install, Impression, and Comparison

Very sensible solution I was working on a similar idea internally. I was considering using a TON of epoxy to fill below the hole, or trying to get somehow get concrete through the 7/8 hole. However structural grout seems like the perfect solution. As you said, Im just looking to make the hole...

MaxJax Transport, Install, Impression, and Comparison

Your comment nails my frustration exactly :D It is not obvious from the site that the epoxy anchors have a different requirement. I recall somewhere that 5" is recommended for the epoxy set. That still means you are using them in a way not intended by the manufacture with imprecise directions...

MaxJax Transport, Install, Impression, and Comparison

Thanks guys, Normally I don't get too crazy about this sort of thing, but I dont want to be nervous every time I get under it As far as I can tell the manual doesn't have instructions for the epoxy anchors just the wedge type. Ill look closer tonight. The epoxy anchors come with basic...

MaxJax Transport, Install, Impression, and Comparison

Hey gents, this is my first post but I have lurked for a very long time. I am mid process for installing my maxjax. Actually it is technically an MX-6. I have completely read most of the related threads on this site and I am still a bit uneasy about what to do. I ordered the epoxy based achors...
