Why are old Craftsman Professional screwdrivers so expensive?

I had a fairly big set of the red/black Craftsman Professional screwdrivers. When the prices shot up, I sold them on Ebay, since I had quite a few that were new/like new. I thought they were great screwdrivers, but I replaced them with a set of Vessel Megadoras. The Vessels are so much better...

    CoThG's Toolbox question thread

Anything you buy on Craigslist may have debt behind it. A Snap on wrench, a Rooms to Go bed, a TV from Best Buy, an Ikea mattress, who gives a ****? If you are that worried about it, don't buy used. Otherwise, buy it and nothing will ever happen because it's not your problem.

Malco Eagle Grip vs Gedore Locking Pliers

I really don't use locking pliers all that often, but I went into a Lowes around 15 years ago and they had all of their Crescent USA stuff on clearance. I bought several adjustables, and I grabbed one of each that I could of the locking pliers. Mine are still in great shape, as I really don't...

    Anything new with ratchet lube?

I used Permatex assembly lube years ago after reading about it on here. It was a sticky mess that leaked out of all of my ratchets. I moved to Super Lube and all has been well since.

Classic USA Craftsman to New Modern Day Made in USA

Crazy how there is still so much misinformation and speculation about the pre-2010 Craftsman tools. I had a conversation with someone that worked for Danaher/Apex once. He told me that all of the Craftsman/Armstrong/Allen sockets all rolled off the same line with the same metal and same...

Was American Eagle a short lived made in USA precursor to Matco's Silver Eagle line or something else entirety?

I don't remember them selling tools, but I bought some tshirts and jeans from there in the mid 90's.

    Western Forge/Eagle Grip Connection?

with the minimal number of tool manufacturers in the USA these days, it's really no surprise that when one has an auction another one ends up with some of their equipment.

    New lawn mower

I had a Husqvarna AWD push mower with a Honda engine. I hated the AWD system. It was very difficult to maneuver the mower because of it. I sold it and bought a Dewalt cordless mower. Both batteries failed, the mower was horrible, I returned it under warranty. I got a Honda self propelled...

Craftsman USA Factory - Bad News

meh. i've bought from people who buy to flip. if they wouldn't have been selling, i wouldn't have had the opportunity to buy. i'd rather pay more for the set on ebay than to drive around to 10 Lowes stores trying to find them (if i would even want these, which I don't). the flipper's time...

Craftsman USA Factory - Bad News

generous of you, but as limited as these are, you should try to make some money off of them for your efforts. the world is full of people buying and reselling. right place at the right time. i'd personally hang on to them until they are all gone and put them on ebay. there are a lot of...

    Craftsmanomania?

I appreciate your dedication to this thread OP. I also love my thin profile ratchets, although I generally grab my Armstrong Maxx flex ratchets first. I do think Craftsman ratchets from this era were great.
