I suspect that's way too thin for traditional "pound in" hold fasts. A double plywood top could last for generations. Mine's 3 1/4" thick but the plan was 3 1/2. I built it out of laminated edge grain hard maple and it's still dead-flat after 17 years.

As you advised, I checked out Martor and Olfa. Fell in love with the Olfa 25mm snap-blade model. Appears to be a beast of a cutter based on reviews and videos I watched. I'll find out Monday :)

For me, the most important aspect to an assembly table is that it's dead-flat. Mine has Dog holes, and I wouldn't want one without them. Requires quite a bit of thickness, however.

We love our Lifestyle garage door screen. The "man door" is sometimes a little sticky/cumbersome, mostly for guests who haven't used it enough to figure it out, but after 7 years of service, if it broke in a storm or whatever, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

I'm pretty new to metalworking, and outside of a welder and a couple grinders I haven't accumulated a lot of tools yet. What peaks my curiosity is how you managed to get such a perfect bevel on the front/business end of the Spud? What was your method?

Had to google "Stanley Roper Shelves" :) I was just going to attach a couple "L" brackets to the wall and put a 4' long 1" x10" on them. Haven't drilled a lot in concrete, but when I have I'd had success with tapcons. Is there something better I should be considering?
