I recently found my snap on csa8b scrapper in a box of tools that ended up in the "junk drawer." It appears if someone had attempted to use it as a chisel and there are a few nicks in it. Can I just throw it on the bench grinder to get the edge back?

I skim coated over gloss paint no problem. I decided to take the easy route and get this tool called the "magic trowel," and it really sped things up. On the directions for it, it actually recommends rolling on a layer of semi gloss before skimming.

Definitely, regardless of how it comes out. I really appreciate all of the advice. I have a good feeling about this, I have the skim coat as smooth as paper right now. I plan on spraying the primer either tomorrow or the next day, depending on the weather.

So I could get away with out back rolling, right?

I'll be using PPG Manor Hall interior/exterior gloss. I believe it's an acrylic. I have access to a Wagner paint crew airless sprayer. I'm also wondering how long I need to wait before laying down the horizontal stripes?

It's going to be inside. I skim coated the entire wall 3 times and with a little light sanding and some hard light it's nearly flawless. I had already painted it a few weeks ago, but I wasn't happy with it, so I decided to skim it all and start fresh.

I just finished skim coating my entire garage and plan on using a gloss paint. I want the smoothest finish. What would be the best way to apply the paint?

I started over, decided I needed to float it out as well, since there were raised lines from what was all ready painted. I've tried the chalk and laser level approach. Now I'm definitely going to try with just a standard level. If I don't get it this time, I'll probably just pay someone else to...

Has anyone noticed if the width of the tape plays a part in keeping a straight line? For example I'm using 1" Frog Tape, would stepping up to a wider tape possibly help to pull a straighter line?

I know this has been asked a lot, but I'm having the time of my life getting a straight horizontal strip on my wall. The wiring in my house is insane. You open the breaker box only to find each 15 amp label reading "lights+outlets." There is absolutely no wire to work with in any of the boxes. But that junction in the attic literally looked like a birds nest when I opened it up.

That makes sense that if it were a neutral it would trip the breaker. Still it's far beyond my wiring knowledge. Is there a reason for it?
