5" Angle Grinder, which to choose?

Refurb, but I like the variable speed and price. https://m.tools-plus.com/bosch-gws13-50vsp-rt.html

    Mica/metallic Flakes in Polyurea Floor

Got the grinding done on the floor. Ordered the Nohr-S kit in tan, with the #3 flake mix. Was thinking about maybe doing a few pounds of either gold or bronze mica metallic chips mixed in, just to add a little “character”. Would it just look silly? Thoughts? Is it harder to mess with (scrape)...

    Push Trimmer

Yeah, I think the Poulan Pro and Husqy were the same unit. Looks like they may now be discontinued. The DR “Premier” seems to have that same feature. Their cheaper one doesn’t. I don’t know much about the Cub Cadet, Swisher, or Remington.

    Push Trimmer

The Echo Bearcat has a blade attachment. Some of the DR models may, also. The rest seem to be string trimmer only.

    Push Trimmer

Submerging your trimmer line in water for several days will keep it more “flexible”. Sounds strange, but it’s true. I have a Poulan Pro. Works well, but the rear wheels are slightly smaller than some other makes. Makes it get stuck in holes more easily. I do like that it has a “brake” that does...

No Filter in Shop-Vac for Dust Collection

Exactly. I’ve been grinding concrete, and even though I’m using a cyclone, the primary filter was still getting clogged every half hour to hour. The addition of a filter bag completely fixed that. Filter bags PLUS filter!!!

Edco dual disc Magna trap grinder

Did some grinding around the edges of the rooms the past few days (this project is 2 hours away from my home, so is taking a while). 1) Got a Bosch variable speed grinder from Tools Plus. New ones are $150 plus. This was a “reconditioned” unit for $79.50. Looked brand spanking new. One year...

Edco dual disc Magna trap grinder

I asked about the thickness of 2 color coats and a coat of clear of your Nohr-S, in a question above, thinking originally your kit had 1 coat primer/2 coats color/1 coat clear. I confirmed with you that the kit is actually 1 coat primer(pigmented)/1 coat color/1 coat clear. What’s the DFT of...

Cracks, to deal or not to deal?

A $3 masonry cutting wheel for your 4” grinder would open those up. Would take all of 1-2 mins. I just got through using some Xtreme Set 100 on some of my defects. Not hard to do, either. (It will cost you, though. The stuff is not cheap. Still, $130 won’t kill you..) If you are that averse to...

Edco dual disc Magna trap grinder

The grinder worked fine with the 30 grit dots. Got most of the rough stuff out with several passes over the rough areas. I wouldn’t recommend the Edco if any serious/large removal of concrete was necessary, though. At least, not with the dots. I’ve got a large shop vac, supplemented with a...

DeWalt Brushless Corded Angle Grinder Mini-Review

$280?? I’d like a variable speed grinder, so I don’t create so much dust if grinding concrete, but that price is bordering on ridiculous. A Google search shows it at HD for $179. Or is that a different one??

Edco dual disc Magna trap grinder

Thanks again. Grinder shows up tomorrow. Sounds like I can get ALMOST as thick with your Nohr-S product (15 mil) as I could with epoxy (around 20), and I know the recoat times are much quicker with the polyurea. Also like the fact that the Nohr-S doesn’t have to be mixed, so I can use the...

Edco dual disc Magna trap grinder

Thank you for the info. Yeah, I realize the grinder is not made for serious removal of concrete, but think they mention about 1/32” per pass. Hoping if I go over the “problem” areas 3-4 times, I’ll get what I need. We’ll see!! The Nohr-S is about 4-5 mil per coat, correct?? So 2 coats of...

Edco dual disc Magna trap grinder

About to grind the floors on my small barndominium/cabin, to get ready to either do Armorpoxy or Nohr-S. Only have about 800 sq ft to do. The slab was done about 16-17 years ago, and was painted with a coat of Ace Hardware Oil based floor paint (I found one of the cans that the previous owners...

    Craftsman wrenches form Lowe’s

There’s plenty of Chinese wrenches out there, as good or much better, for much less money. If you want USA, get on eBay and have at it. Not really any better (other than the Professional line), but at least it will say USA on it, making you think you got your money’s worth.

Preservation of tools from rust, methods?

If you’re going to store them in sealed buckets, you might look at products in the VCI realm. These are tabs/paper/etc that emit “vapor” that will keep the rust in check. That, plus a cup or two of DampRid in each, might do the trick.
