    Garage Quote - Gulp!

That is pretty common for prices around here to build a garage. I was quoted $60k for a two car single story garage without electrical, plumbing, or insulation. Just siding and a roof. I built a 2 story 30 X 40 with the highest quality materials available with hydronic heat, electricity...

Need my lot surveyed (& am shocked by the estimates)

I paid $1,900 to have my acre lot lines/boundaries marked. I'm in WA state but you should shop around, that seems really out of line.

    Whiskey Distillery (Garage/Barn)

Very cool... I loves me some Whiskey. On my second one right now as a matter of fact.

    My new shop in progress

No spots for lifts. I don't intend on a lift but if I ever do I'll go 4 post so no need for any planning. The 4" concrete is plenty strong even for 2 post lift so I'm good there. I see the benefit of expansion joints but I prefer none and have never had the need for them in any of my previous...

Asking for shop advice in Auburn,WA

I live in Auburn off of the Auburn Black Diamond road out towards Maple Valley/Covington. I have a shop in progress that is pretty much done on the outside. I did 2 stories with no poles in the lower shop area. No real adivce from me but you can see what I ended up doing... Here is my project...

    Tractors

Yeah, I love both brands but they do get a premium for the name. Problem is I really don't know which "off" brands are of decent quality with decent replacement parts and accessories available.

Need a safe for guns and valuables.

Take a look at Liberty safes. If you have a fire or if it gets broken into they'll replace the safe free of charge (might depend on the dealer). Some of the best made safes around and they have several price points.

    Tractors

I've been trying to find a good deal on a decent tractor myself. I have only 1 acre but would use it for landscaping, moving dirt, lifting materials into my truck and out, annual bark for the flower beds (moved from the driveway around to the back of the poperty etc...) I really don't know much...

Please critique my hydronic heat control panel parts list

Stainless if I wanted to go with an open system or on that was replenished by city water. Cast iron if it is a closed sytem as I intend.

Please critique my hydronic heat control panel parts list

Roger that, doesn't hurt to try it out without the extra spendy stuff. It can always be added later. I'll give it a try without it. I do plan to use distilled water with glycol since I'll be using cast iron pumps. I would love to go with stainless or bronze pumps but I can't find any under $250...

Please critique my hydronic heat control panel parts list

I'm trying to keep untreated water out of the system. I guess I'll need to purchase something like this as suggested earlier...

Please critique my hydronic heat control panel parts list

Just a bump in case someone has more input. I had to take a break and work on other things. I'm back to trying to get my control panel components ironed out. I purchased the Takagi Jr. tankless heater but still am unsure if I want a closed or open system. 1. What are most people doing? Open or...

1st post: Planning a garage need opinions

Wow, that's darn near flat. I have a shed dormer on mine that is about 3.5/12 and I thought it was too flat for my area. I'd go with metal, easy to blow off and/or hose off debris if any accumulates.

    My new shop in progress

Still working on electrical and plumbing... been kind of burnt out lately, besides, it is damn cold out. Got the Cobra on the road for the last part of the summer/fall driving season but as I mentioned ealier the cam had to come out. Here are a few pics of the Cobra until I have more of the...

    what color siding and trim?

I have a similar color roof as you do. I went with a match to my house which is a light gray with darker gray trim and black ridge/gutters. Here it is in primer which is a nice tan color that I almost went with but decided to match my house.
