    New Snap-On F100

Hey I like that gadget. I didn’t have much luck finding under the name “reetchet” does it go by another name?

    Canada Only Deals!

I checked it out (was in there to pick up some random consumables). Not impressive. The drawers have these chincy release levers sticking out the fronts of them and slides didn’t feel nearly as nice as a Snap on, my Rousseau or even a Mastercraft honestly. Heavy gauge construction and nice built...

    Canada Only Deals!

This isn’t a specific deal per-se, but wanted to share my positive experience buying through Summit Racing. They give you an all in price (shipping, duties, customs etc) with free shipping on an order over $300. Their prices are lowest I’ve found on a lot of tools and performance parts and with...

Organization of Socket Drawer / Top Drawer Metric + Fractional SAE Discussion

Metric on left in green, SAE on right (orange). Dividing up the middle are torx/etorx bits in blue. Ratchets, extensions and adapters near front for easy access. Agree with @AEAdam opening multiple drawers for sockets, ratchet and extensions was maddening so organized all to be in one, top...

Snap-on LN46ACF jaw slop – try to exchange?

My 6” Irwin vise is what I used. Had to crank er as hard as I could by hand a couple times and it was enough. When you’re giving it the beans with the vise you can continually check the tightness of the joint by moving the pliers arm not clamped. Should help you to not go overboard!

Snap-on LN46ACF jaw slop – try to exchange?

I had the same problem with mine. I don’t work at a shop with truck service so I deal with their customer service and they are fantastic. They told me just to dispose of the old ones and shipped me new no issue. Fedwrench is right on with the cause. I took the old pair and put the rivet joint...

    Canada Only Deals!

The bristles need to impact the work surface to have a blast effect. I need to add the “accelerator bar”. Here’s a video of the inventor company Montipower. Their unit is $2,000 so wasn’t feasible to go that way! I discovered these in my work with industrial coating companies and it should be...

    Canada Only Deals!

Just picked this guy up from PA today. Discontinued so more than half off. I’m going to modify it to bristle blast (make profile like sandblasting but without the mess!). https://www.princessauto.com/en/4-in-decal-and-undercoat-removal-tool/product/PA0009029372 It’s the exact same tool that...

Sunex impact sockets on Hansen Trays?

I can confirm. I’ve got the 3/8” drive SUNEx impact sockets deep and shallow in a Hansen peg tray (10mm to 19mm). No issue with the OD conflicting in those sizes. I had an older Tekton impact set where I believe there was space issues when you got down to the 7 and 8mm, but I have no use for 3/8...

Mobile tool kit based on first order of retrievability, what would you add or leave?

You don’t have to say “I’m not a mechanic anymore” if you’re still wrenching and you have your mind and your skill you will always be a tradesman. No one can take that from you. That knowledge and experience is yours for life. You earned it, wear it with pride sir.

Interesting new tool. Too pricey for, but thought I’d share

This is the same company that was/is making RBRT for Mac tools. Lots of people here including myself that can vouch for how great these are on hex drives!

    Socket Organization

I like hansen trays for the sets that stay in the main box, and Ernst rails for grab and go like my semi-deeps and bit sockets. The Ernst rails are handy as you can mix and match them on the black trays and bring them to the work / load your cart/tool bag for specific job. I do a variety of...

    Let's see your toolbox.

The grips come off both the Matco and the Snap ons about the same (boiling water and pry off, and they come off, go back on intact). Just that Matco doesn’t make them available separately (even to dealers). When the grip gets pooched you can warrantee it (and at that point ask for a different...

    Let's see your toolbox.

Haha good eye! I changed my handle color system after I had bought my Matco ratchets so I needed to swap em. As you have likely found Matco does not sell new handles so you’re SOL with them. They remove just like the Snappys (boiling water submerge one minute then pry off using a wrench...

    Let's see your toolbox.

It’s a home shop so I don’t have to worry about locking everything up and this flow seems to work the best so far. I also tried to maximize space by having stacking bins for my less used 3/8” and 1/4” extensions / ratchets. I picked up each of the bins here to show what’s underneath

    Let's see your toolbox.

Just one, my S80A and shorter extensions. Rest of my 1/2” ratchets I hang on the wall with my prybars

    Let's see your toolbox.

Got a new bottom box for under my bench. It’s made by Rousseau (Canada), same OEM Tekton uses. The 250 lb per drawer capacity is no joke. I tested it :). 48” wide x 27” deep. Finally arranged the socket drawer so I can grab ratchet, socket and extension without opening 3 different drawers!

Anyone swap a 1/4" square drive anvil onto a Dewalt 20v 1/4" hex driver?

Reason to do this is two-fold. 1- clearance which is a premium on newer vehicles. And 2 - there is notable torque loss with any adapter (torque test channel did a test on this) which with the small impact driver there isn’t much to spare!

Anyone swap a 1/4" square drive anvil onto a Dewalt 20v 1/4" hex driver?

Scroll to post 15. A guy did it with a MAC tools anvil. I want to do the same thing! Let us know how it goes: https://discuss.toolguyd.com/t/sourcing-1-4-square-percussion-anvil-for-impact-wrench/3122/16

    Garage Organization

My garage/shop in the suburbs is also a 2 car and *had* similar issues sharing space. You almost have to start with that component first if you can. My solution was to first organize and get rid of a bunch of **** in the basement so my wife could claim that (with the agreement that the garage...
