Sorry for your loss. Poodles are great dogs.... smart, easily trained, and loving as hell. Cherish his memory.

Love my trees, hate the Effin leaves!

Either pay the $100 for a service to remove them or wait and let the wind take them away.... it NEVER stops blowing there! Damned good place for windmills.

    Drafting Machines

I've spent years using both types, and my preference is the track-type. These machines can be adjusted to be very accurate in all motions, and as long as the tracks are clean, they are very smooth and trouble free. Be aware that adjusting/setup can be kind of tedious (kind of like tuning up a...

    Let's See Your Garage Dog

Years ago I had a little poodle whose mood and manner changed as her hair grew out. Before she'd get a grooming, she was an absolute slob.... flop down anywhere, slouch around, etc. Get her groomed and she became a little princess show off. Posing to get compliments, sitting bolt upright, always...

    Let's See Your Garage Dog

So sorry for your loss, I know the heart ache of having pets put down. Been through it too many times. But take comfort in the time you had with her and the fact that you were able and willing to go the extra mile and give her a happy long life.

    Got this free pole building

It's obvious to me, this ain't their first rodeo! They are used to, and committed to, community involvement in building projects (actually, not just building, but planting, harvest, cattle, etc.). I'm sure the elders are the ramrods of the deal, and they know who can do what, so they assign the...

    Wall mount bench grinder?

I did something similar to a wall mount... I built a box (sides, back, bottom and top) out of 1/2" plywood that my 3/4 hp Craftsman block grinder would fit in with plenty of working clearance. I included a shelf below. Then I used heavy duty shelf brackets to mount it to the wall. It worked...

Getting a lift.. put the wife on notice!

I don't like heights.... I'd just knock out a wall and put the machine tools in the family room, but hey, that's just me.

    Alemite Service Merchandiser

Before you get too far along, remove all trim, emblems, etc. so they don't get screwed up by whatever process you use. I've heard of guys using oven cleaner to remove pin striping paint, so it may work on overspray. Cool unit! Good luck!

New Barn Design- Zoning Board Meeting Tomorrow

Like you, I like barn (sliding) doors, but haven't seen a good way to seal them the elements (and small critters). Common garage doors might serve you better. JMHO

    Need advice!

IMHO 12' ceilings are a bit high unless you're talking about a huge room. The longer a board is, the more expensive it is, simply because it requires a better log (fewer defects in its length). What is the architect's reasoning? You gotta remember, they are designing a monument to themselves...

Ever do something so stupid you wonder if you should be left unsupervised?

I'll bet the inmates got a big chuckle over that! "Who's the crazy one now?"

Above 1200 Sq/FT Zeph's Quasi WWII Era Shop

Zeph, forgive me if I've missed it somewhere, but it seems the VC is a real ******* child in the realm of WW II Dodge rigs. Was it a short production vehicle, stop gap, super early production, etc.? With all the oddities you're running into I can't imagine these were common (or liked) in most...
