Effort required to reset/exercise cheap torque wrench

Laughing... that's good, practical advice, thanks! I can definitely ignore the instructions (I'm an expert at that)!

Effort required to reset/exercise cheap torque wrench

On mine, the lock knob has a limited range and I always back it off to the full extent possible, so there's no additional loosening to be had. I think I'm just going to carry it back to HF when I'm in town in a couple of weeks and get their opinion... maybe mine's defective and they'll offer to...

Effort required to reset/exercise cheap torque wrench

I had to check (thought it might have just been internet scuttlebutt), but the it's actually in the manual (https://manuals.harborfreight.com/manuals/0-999/00239.pdf). 1. BEFORE EVERY USE, exercise Torque Wrench. Loosen Lock Knob (see step 5 on page 3), then perform the following exercise...

Effort required to reset/exercise cheap torque wrench

I decided it was time to add a torque wrench to my tool chest and bought a $20 Harbor Freight click torque wrench (10-150 ft. lbs.) to experiment with. I understand I'm supposed to reset (exercise?) the tool before each use by running it through its adjustment range three times, but I barely...

    Paper or Metal coil filters?

My system is a Nordyne-manufactured E3 Series (Air Conditioner/Heat Pump Air Handler). When I bought my secondhand mobile home eight years ago, there were thin, woven metal filters over both sides of my A-coil. These are the only filters on my system, and they just kind of lean against the coil...

    Why is my A-coil dripping?

Dirt is definitely an issue here. The outside coil is in good shape; I cleaned that unit a month or so ago.

    Why is my A-coil dripping?

I saw that as I was replacing the cover with the fan on... major suction! Thanks again for your help,

    Why is my A-coil dripping?

Thanks a lot, guys. I don't have any clean filters to put on tonight but I put the covers back on and it's blowing 61° air now, 22° cooler than the outside 83° air, and from what little I can see through the louvers, the coil's not freezing up again!

    Why is my A-coil dripping?

The inside temp is 83° and the air measured at the register was 81-82°. I'm using a digital food thermometer (two different ones, actually), but that's the reading I'm getting. Yes it's currently operating with the covers off, just as you see in the "Full System" photo attached here, When I...

    Why is my A-coil dripping?

After drying things out for an hour or so, I left the filters off and turned the system back on a half-hour ago, and the outer A-coil fins are icing up again, as is the copper tubing on the outside of the unit, and the air it's blowing isn't particularly cool (81-82f according to my instant-read...

    Why is my A-coil dripping?

    I will definitely do that.

    Why is my A-coil dripping?

I like your thinking, but I wouldn't have the first clue about how to do all that, I'm afraid. Maybe I'll Google around a bit and see if I can learn anything. Thanks, though.

    Why is my A-coil dripping?

Yeah, that's the current plan. I use the cheapest filters at Home Depot. Do you think there would there be any advantage in using a better filter, given that I have to change them monthly already?)

    Why is my A-coil dripping?

Dang, I was hoping those photos would show up without my having to link each one. Oh well... Oh, and I'm also wondering about the batting lining the sides of the compartment that's also pretty well caked with dog hair. I'm thinking that's just soundproofing (see soundproofing-doghair.jpg...

    Why is my A-coil dripping?

This is a mobile home system, 13 years old. I heard a tapping behind the covers of my coil/air handler compartment (if those are the right terms), and found the floor wet under the air handler. Looking upwards into the bottom of the A-coil, I saw a drop of water forming at the corner that...

Table Saw Arbor Wrenches - Craftsman 10" 137.2488880

I appreciate that, @tarbelltx. Next time I change blades I'll take a look at that 7/8" nut, but I don't think I have much of a chance of making my own thin wrench for the arbor. At this point, I'm thinking vice grips on the blade and a crescent wrench (or 7/8, if the nut is actually messed up)...

Table Saw Arbor Wrenches - Craftsman 10" 137.2488880

Thanks for that tip, @Shop-hound. I've learned that I can buy a set of OEM wrenches on eBay right now for about the same money so I may just go that direction. I've also learned that I can block the blade with a scrap of wood (or vice grips) and use an adjustable wrench on the blade, and I may...

Table Saw Arbor Wrenches - Craftsman 10" 137.2488880

Thanks for that! My outer nut is a hex and a hair larger than 7/8 so 11/16 is definitely too small, but 27.4mm doesn't seem too far off. I managed to get the outer nut off and was able to get a caliper on the shaft this morning, and it measured 125/128/ (24.8mm), so a 1-inch thin wrench would...

Table Saw Arbor Wrenches - Craftsman 10" 137.2488880

Wow! That's really tempting, thanks for digging that up. $50 seems way high for what they are, but perhaps not much more than a set of thin wrenches and I'd know I was getting the right tools the first time.
