How much is this snap on tool chest combo worth? (New England)

I recently acquired this KRA-307f and KRA-61f and put a dozen hours into thoroughly washing them, including removing all rails to degrease them and apply dry lube. I replaced all drawer liners. It's all the original paint and includes the drawer removal tool and original keys. I bought it from...

Product that's safe to clean a 1980s snap on toolbox?

@crewchief888 I think I'm going to pressure wash it next. The inside has 40 years of dust and grease buildup. Any tips for doing a pressure wash that won't damage that paint or cause rusting? I took the drawers out tonight

Product that's safe to clean a 1980s snap on toolbox?

I used 1/10 sg/water with a sponge and then followed it with a dry rag. There are quite a few stubborn grease spots so now I'm tempted to take all of the drawers out this summer and pressure wash it down. There is some light rusting on the bottom corners but that's about it. A decent amount of...

Product that's safe to clean a 1980s snap on toolbox?

Perfect. It looks like it's just plastic underneath that chrome. I wonder if it would take paint.

Gotcha. I just want to remove it all, not concerned about replacing it

Product that's safe to clean a 1980s snap on toolbox?

Some of the bottom corners have some light rusting. Would the heavy duty SG work on that?

Product that's safe to clean a 1980s snap on toolbox?

This is exactly the help I needed. So you would try to remove the rust with light oil and an abrasive? Or just apply oil

Product that's safe to clean a 1980s snap on toolbox?

I recently picked up this box. It has some dirt and grime, I'd like to clean it but keep the paint since it's still good condition. I've read a good starting place is dawn dish soap and an abrasive sponge. It also has some chrome stickering on the handles that is peeling off if anyone has a...

    Snap on toolbox worth $200?

Brought it home tonight. It sounds like dawn dish soap half diluted with water and a scotch pad is the right way to start trying to clean up the dirt and grease. The chrome sticker stuff is peeling off the drawers if anyone knows how to remove the remaining bits of it.

    Snap on toolbox worth $200?

Hello, I am a garage noob looking for a toolbox since I need a 2nd one. I may have lucked out because today I found the attached top/bottom stack for $200 in my area. They didn't say it was SnapOn but it looks like it is (and not just a sticker) from the pics. Is this too good to be true? They...

Does anyone know if a paint like this one would work for the silver lettering?

Grandfather's vise was a Craftsman 5410 - how can I remove the stopper to disassemble?

It came off after light scrubbing with the steel brush. Yeah it was undiluted. I suppose the next step is to figure out which paint/primer to use. I'm assuming the little tiny bits of red paint that wouldn't come off can be painted over but if you have any advice it's appreciated!

Grandfather's vise was a Craftsman 5410 - how can I remove the stopper to disassemble?

@Shiftless and others who have helped, here's an update! Here's the vise as it was given to me. It was sitting in garages unused for decades: Here it is after bathing in a bucket of Simple Green for 3 days. It's red! Here it is after wire brushing it all down (most of the red came off)...

What about the spindle and the big block slide thing underneath it? Those also look bare, are they just greased?
