No - problem isn't in the Arduino SW. It is something in the adjustment of the pulleys for the variable speed drive. My assumption is the two pulleys aren't closing down enough on the front drive, which would create a bigger pulley on the front, slowing down the spindle.

Primeweld, HTP and Everlast are good alternatives. I have a Miller MIG but an Everlast TIG and I am very happy with it. I know lots of people with Primewelds and they swear by them. Stay away from the YesWelder and super cheap stuff. Have heard mixed things on Harbor Freight and Eastwood.

Price it out - I can't imagine running copper of any size would be cheaper that a rapidair kit or one of the knockoffs. If you buy the kit it has a lot of fittings in it so you may not need to buy too many more?
