That looks nice... I tried using construction adhesive on a couple panels last weekend - because I had it laying around - but it's not a good solution. Off to look for washers!

Any worry about condensation between the foam board and the wall? I'm trying to figure out if a vapor barrier is needed... Like the OP, my intent is to place up against the purlins... and then cover with oak. Not sure if this is exactly what @peetroe had in mind, but quick pic of my little...

no sir. Just a 30x50 standard pole building with barn door at the gable end. It's fine, but it's definitely not what I would have done had finances not been a challenge at the time.

This is very similar to what I wanted to do... just couldn't make the math work at the time and went pole-barn instead... but i tend to regret that now. Nice work.

I suspect we'll make the gate ourselves... I think the action is going to be the most expensive portion - seem openers as much as $3-4K. WAY more than we want to spend. :D I have a lot of research to do!

Great points. There is the potential for 10 houses to be behind this gate. Could be as simple as 1 code per house, or as complex as 1 code per person... And then 1 code for UPS, FedEx, Garbage, etc.. very easy to make this more complex than it needs to be. I think the only way to prevent...

Been reading through a number of the security threads, but nothing quite addresses my need. We're building on acreage that is on a private, gravel road with 10 lots. We currently have a manually operated cattle gate at the entrance to the area, but we're looking at installing a "proper"...

I'm no help since I'm on the opposite side of town as you... but I'd start with the town hardware store... they always seem to have good recommendations.
