Looking for thread where OP made their own hardwood flooring.

It's certainly possible, but if you value your time and don't already have the tools you would be better off not doing it. My parents had the local amish run 5" cherry flooring last year for less than I could buy the material.

Like a lot of thing's neither doors or jambs are hard to build once you understand how to build them, and have all the correct tools to do it.

Or you are giving them away as gifts, and keeping the batteries... Or its the new generation model.

    Best deals on M18 batteries?

Best way to buy milwaukee batteries is between black friday and Christmas when HD is having day/week sales on tools with free batteries. Buying them stand alone is the most expensive way.

Replace decking or also framing for 20 year old deck?

Treated lumber has a finite lifespan, 20 year old lumber is on borrowed time. To spend any money on decking which should last 50 years and installing it on framing that you will be exceptionally lucky to get 10 more years out of seems fiscally irresponsible. I suppose if you are flipping thr...

    Wiring a 100amp outlet/connection- typical practice?

Is it a 80 or 100hp rpc? The rpc is acting like a buffer, but the inrush starting the rpc itself is significant.

    Wiring a 100amp outlet/connection- typical practice?

Only if the start ramp is very short in duration.

Replace decking or also framing for 20 year old deck?

Spending 10-20k on decking that can't be reused once installed to save 2k in framing lumber doesn't make sense.

    Wiring a 100amp outlet/connection- typical practice?

Ideally op needs a 3ph motor and a soft start (vfd or otherwise) if they want 20hp on single phase power. Now that does assume the compressor would function with a soft start.

Replace decking or also framing for 20 year old deck?

I would rebuild with 12" spacing and upsize the framing. The framing cost is minimal compared to the decking. You might as well go best practice while you can.

Anyone interested in a shaper (aka, spindle moulder, Toupie, Tischfräse) conversation?

Just generally the essential list likely would be: rebate block Adjustable groover (I like the 8-15 over the 4-15 for general use but the latter is more versatile) Corrugated head or 40mm euro block. Then a pattern head I have a very similar cmt lock Miter head, and it works well, it's just...

Looking for thread where OP made their own hardwood flooring.

Reminds me of a guy on that forum that went out and bought a bunch of benchtop tools, and construction lumber to build passage doors, with no basic understanding of the tools, process or woorwork in general. When told it wouldn't work out he got very defensive. He thought he could easily and...

****** HVAC duct in an attic...

So an all metal duct in a 0-140 degree environment.. Might as well just let the air handler just vent to the the attic without any duct.

    NOS Powermatic 66 table saw

Nope.. had one, it was nice but not worth a premium for being NOS. I was happy to get 800 out of it when I sold it.

It's getting fake hedge panels (with lights) on top of the trellis, so he will have a really hard time climbing it (hopefully) . . . Maybe...

With the mini-me running around this lattice had become the highest priority. I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for (structural lattice) so I went with a off the shelf trellis and modified to suit. I'd have gone with single uprights but was over ruled by my wife and my mom at the same...
