    Scan tool options

I got a good deal on craigslist from someone needing money quickly. They sell for 500-$1500 on ebay depending on what version the software is. If you are used to the mt2500 like i was, you'll love a solus pro. Don't get too caught up in the newer stuff if you are just a home mechanic. Easy way...

    Scan tool options

For what it's worth, i was recently in your shoes. I am just a guy that works on my vehicles and my families. Went from a mt2500 to a snap on solus pro. Use the same keys and i was able to buy a version with 2013 software which will last me awhile as my family tends to fix our vehicles, rather...

    2017 Epstein's Day?

Had the privilege to walk down over my lunch to grab one of the new SK ratchets. Always a pleasure to visit this store. So much inventory. Just wish my wallet was a bit thicker to accommodate all my "wants".

    Need to Fill Tool Chest!

+1 on garage sales, and estate sales. Know what you want/need and pick and choose. If you drive a toyota and yamaha dirtbike (just an example), you don't need a full set of standard size wrenches/sockets up to 2". Search craigslist and start lowballin people with cash offers and pickup, you may...

    Motorcycle wheels storage bin

as a fellow track rider, i just throw my spare wheels/rains in the back of my 4runner. No real easy way to store them on a trailer. good luck with your search

Thinking about assembling a tool set to live in my daily driver

I picked up an older craftsman tool box (the old school mechanic style) and just started adding bits and pieces to it that i found at estate sales or garage sales. Socket set, few sets of pliers, etc.. I use it more for when i am at a friends house or parents place and need a set of tools...

Mounting Ceiling Hoist on Top bar of 2 Post Lift? Pics!

Don't have anything to contribute regarding the lift, but that garage is nice! I would love to have something like that.

Good deal on these fire extinguishers?

I would pass. Here's why.. If you ever have to pull the pin and squeeze the handle on those for a small fire, you are going to hate life when it comes to cleaning up stuff. That powder is extremely corrosive (rusted matco sockets in 24 hours once for me) I'd rather have one or two good, halon...

    Portable generator help

+1 on champion 2k generators. I have two of them, running in parallel to make 4k Peak watts. All cheaper than one honda/yamaha 2k generator.

Did I overpay for these tools I found at an Estate sale?

I go to estate sales when i can. About 90% of the time i walk out disappointed. Even the ones that say "tools, tools tools!" usually will have some SAE craftsman and a bunch of 80's chinese ratchets. Always priced like they are brand new. Don't beat yourself up on them. Just live and learn

    Scanner Sweet Spot

+1 for MT2500 snap on tool. I picked one up awhile ago and can't believe i waited so long to do so. Watch ebay and don't be afraid to spend a little extra on one that has every adapter and cartridge available.

New e-bay seller backing out of deal.

Just move on. You could always try calling them, but no way the shop is going to eat that big of a loss.

    Torque wrench maintenance ?

If you do a google search, there will be many torque wrench calibration results. I researched this for a while before talking to a dealership buddy with a snap on man. He came by and i dropped it off with him for calibration.

    Installation Questions for Garage Winch

Fellow track guy here. I'm assuming no kick stand on the bike? I'd recommend getting better at backing up a trailer. The reason why is that loading a bike into a trailer that isn't secured at the tongue is a pain. It moves, tilts and is unstable. If you can back your trailer up the driveway...

Harbor Freight 3 Ton Daytona Jack Versus Snap On FJ300 Jack

While i agree with you, and i did read this whole thread, i have to wonder how harbor freight is allowing this to happen. I mean if one does a search for completed auctions, there are HUNDREDS of these jacks sold at the low buy it now price. The last auction has 41 sold on January 15 and...
