    Simple, Tough Height Adjustable Bench?

I bought my trailer jacks at Northern Tool. I was going to weld up my own wheel set up, but they had everything there. I do not remember the price, but i have less than 600 in my whole table. My chassis table weighs over 700lbs, lots of steel. The worst part is right now it has become a catch...

    Simple, Tough Height Adjustable Bench?

I do not have any good pics of my chassis table, but I used 4 adjustable trailer jacks with wheels. It works great. My table is 10'x40" 3/8 thick top. I had to have the wheels to move it.

    clear floor finishes?

H&C clear for living areas with acrylic floor finish over it. For the shop Rexathane clear from sherwin williams works well. I did the redneck version of polished concrete. I used my floor buffer to smooth the concete before acid staining. It worked well.

    The Project Garage/Office

I bring the unpopular, always think resale. What we like and what John Q Public wants are not the same. Finished living space sells. Most people want living space. What do I know I live in a shop...

    cost of shop/apartment

I built a 60x100x16, with a 24x40 2bdr two story 2bath apartment. I am north of 200k. It is kind of like asking how much a new car costs. Do you want a KIA, or a RollsRoyce. It can be as cheap as you want it to a point. I would say 80k if you wanted the cheapest stuff, and did as much as you...

    Who lives in the shop?

Thanks MOPARHOUND! I have some great friends that have helped me get the place finished. It was harder than I thought. Cars are easier, I am in the middle of repairing a bank owned 1960's 2bedroom one bath brick house. The only car I have built since I started the shop has been my 1956 F100...

    Who lives in the shop?

I **** at posting pictures/updates. That said I have been living in my new shop/house for 6 months. It is nicer than it started out to be. Gourmet kitchen, slate tile bathrooms/counter tops, acid stained concrete, lcd tv's, the right stuff. I am getting used to calling it home. I have a hard...

    Construction question

2x6 24oc meets code. I built my shop office/apartment 2x6 16oc. 2x6 will give more room for insulation. 24oc makes for a better insulated building, studs do not insulate very well.

    eve extensions after the fact?

I would have done alot of things in a different way. No major changes, but now that my apartment is done I live there. I WILL BE doing the extensions, just not sure when.

    eve extensions after the fact?

I had been looking at your frame work pictures, it looks simple enough. Without getting "professional" help I figure 5-8K for the 3sides, at 3 ft. I built the building with a 20x100 shed roof so I know how much$$$ the stuff ends up being. Trim adds up real quick, red iron is the cheapest part...

    eve extensions after the fact?

I know more than I every wanted to about my 60x100 metal building now that it is finished. I am looking at options for retrofitting eve extensions. I have a 20x100 shed roof on the back, so I am only looking at 2 or possible 3 sides. The side walls seem easy enough, just extend the z purlins...

    Garage Financing

I am just finishing a refi on my primary residence in North Carolina. It is a 2000sqft brick house 4/2. Attached 32x 24 brick garage. I have a detached 30x50x12 shop, block with the same brick as the house. Two post lift seperate meter, half bath, the works. Because of comps my shop never adds...

    Sherwin Williams Armorseal Rexthane

I used it in the mechanical room of my apartment at my shop. That is the room I used as my test mule for the acid stain, and different floor finishes. It was a a small area so it was easy to apply. It dried Crystal clear, took a few days to fully cure, is tough, not sure about using it in the shop.

Double Insulation in a steel building?

I was not sure if I remembered correctly. I was pretty sure that was how your shop was done. What do you think about the insulation in the floor under an attic storage area. It is the ceiling of the kitchen area on the downstairs, up top it is attic storage with no heating/cooling.

Double Insulation in a steel building?

I am finishing up the office/game room in my steel building. The building is a standard red iron steel framed building. I installed insulation attaching to the z purlins of the metal building. I have r19 in the walls of my building and r25 in the roof. The insulation has a wmp-50 vapor barrier...

Setting a lift on its safety locks/catches?

I guess lifts vary from mfg to mfg. I have an Ammco 2post. It has air locks. It may take 10seconds total to set the car at the locks. I always stop at one of the locks, and I make sure that both side are on the locks. That is how I do it, you can do whatever you want as long as I am not under...

    Hardwood/real wood laminate over concrete?

I will be looking at the options. A few well placed area rugs may solve it. I will know more when the space is finished. I know I would like to have some type of wood floor. Still searching for a definitive answer on what can be placed over concrete.

    Hardwood/real wood laminate over concrete?

Thanks for the resale tip. I think I will have a harder time trying to get buyers over the fact that my 1500 sqft apartment is at the end of an 8000sqft shop. The apartment is all high end stuff, granite, slate, brushed nickel. The apartment is not going to be long term living. When my house is...
