Hi Negen, The 35 inch models do not come with a metal cover. The 42" and up do. I believe the newer ones come with stainless tops, or stainless caps around the MDF. When I bought mine first SHD boxes years ago (2011), the options for the 42" and up models were galvanized metal work surfaces.
