    120v (Line voltage) Wifi Thermostat

Looking for suggestions on a Wifi thermostat compatible with 120v baseboard heating. This is for a cabin which usually has the temp set to 50 when we are away, we would like to turn the temp up and possibly monitor it remotely prior to arriving.

I Don't Understand The ICON Pricing Structure - Tool Chests

I am on quite a few FB pags for mechanics/toolboxes etc. I was a professional tech for many years in my teens-20s. I still have all of my Snapon, Mac, Matco Craftsman stuff. I recently needed toolboxes and since Sears is no longer I started looking at HF. I ended up buying 2 boxes, a...

    1960s Craftsman Table Saw

I am selling my grandpas old Craftsman table saw. It is in ok condition and functions. I can email pics but I cannot post pics on here for some reason. The link below is similar to mine (except the item in the link is in much better condition)...

Is there a best toolbox under 1100 at Home Depot?

I have a love/hate relationship with HF. I enjoy the toolboxes, I had most of their tools. I have friends that still wrench and swear HF. I have yet to see their Icon series ( I think they are renaming or replacing the US General name). If I had more room, I would buy 10-20 42" boxes and...

    What speaker wire size?

I like to buy all of the low voltage boxes from HD or Lowes. I saved a **** ton of cash getting the wall plates from Monoprice. In my situation, it was for RG6 and CAT6 keystones. But the big box stores wanted about $15/wall plate for the plate and 3 keystones of your choice. Monoprice had...

    Bathroom fan

When I added a fan to my bathroom 5 years ago, I also needed a light... So I bought a nicer combo unit. It doesnt perform nearly as well as I hoped. The bright side is that I will be remodeling the bathroom in a years or so, so I will end up with a better fan-only unit and add the timer. My...

Is there a best toolbox under 1100 at Home Depot?

I have a professional Matco box that I dont use anymore, a HF 42" and the 26". The Matco box list price was $5k, the HF boxes were combined about $550. My Matco box is too big for my garage so it resides at a different house until I can build a second garage. With that being said, the HF...

    obd scanner purchase?

I bought a Bluepoint Microscan a while ago for $100 (enhanced version with more than just engine DTCs). It can data log and more. I would like to upgrade eventually to something that can get more in depth like cyl load balance/cam phaser on/off to aide in diag.

    garage organization paralysis

My suggestion is lay it out in a mindful way. Look into 5S (everything has a place, every footstep is potentially a wasted footstep). I planned my layout with some trial and error. I hung cabinets where they looked best but were not as easy to get to so I moved them. Then I had a shop press...

New natural gas garage heater question

I think there is a small footnote on my 50K Mr Heater instructions that said it would smell (most likely) on the first fireup. I haven't finished plumbing mine yet so I haven't run it. Hopefully I will have everything done this weekend.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Currently watching the Lions lose. Drinking a cold beer. Just winterized my boat and took my 69 Mustang and 51 F1 for a spin.

Badly Pitted Garage Floor...Prep For Tile

I used a putty knife and a large prybar to get the "loose" pieces out. When I say "loose" I mean, they are cracked but not separating from the floor yet. Once that was complete, I'd pressure wash the floor like Slowgsr said.

    Help with pellet stove diag

I did not have a multimeter when I was up there, its about a 4 hour trip (1 way) so I'll have to check voltage next time. I pulled the control module but didnt pull the cover (warranty seal was still intact but I'm pretty sure the warranty is expired). I didnt see any burned components on the...

    Help with pellet stove diag

Thanks for the input. I jumped all of the temp limit switches (snap discs) and it didnt make a difference. I tried to depress the manual reset buttons on the ones that had them. It is not feeding pellets or igniting the pellets that I put in the burn tray. From what I can tell, the call...

    Help with pellet stove diag

Long story short: My mother in law has a cottage 4 hours away, we get up north and find that the pellet stove will not start. It hasnt been utilized in 6 weeks but has run flawlessly for the past 5+ years. I found the instruction manual and followed the failure/cause of failure points to try...

    PEX - Educate Me

I just pulled a bunch of copper from my basement and ran PEX. I got the 100 foot roll of 3/4 and a 100 foot roll of 1/2. If I had to do it over, I would run the 3/4 in 10' straight sections. Trying to unwind and run it from the roll is almost a 2 person job. The 1/2" is really easy to use...
