I know there is all ready many pages of people saying how amazing your garage looks but I had to post.

I love every sq ft of your garage. The car, the garage.... both amazing.

I will also be doing the inclosed shelving along the top of the wall. ;)

Scott,

Your garage has been a huge inspiration for me. Take a look:

Awesome. Looks great!

When I first started reading this thread, looking at the "before" pictures, I was thinking I was going to have to sue for foster care of that beautiful car for failure to provide it a worthy home. I see you've rectified the situation. Great job on both projects.

lol, yeah, the garage was totally neglected when I was building the car. I didn't want to divide my focus, so it was all car, then all shop.

A huge thanks to everyone at Meredith, the publishers of WOOD and BH&G magazines for selecting my little garage for the cover of their annual Great Garage Makeover magazine. It was a lot of fun working with them.

Getting on the cover is great, but getting to share it with my son is awesome.

Congratulations!! I saw this issue yesterday at Home Depot and recognized your garage on the cover ....... so I bought it. A bonus was that Jack's "12 Gauge Garage" is also in the same issue.

Thanks guys.

What did you do to the garage door to make it look so finished? Is it insulation?
Entire job = Outstanding

It's an insulated garage door. There are definitely nicer ones on the market, I went with one that was about in the middle of the road for cost/performance.

Scott, my family moved to an old house that we had renovated. Fortunately I got permission to add a garage. I've been wanting to fix up the garage, but the house has taken the priority for the last 18 months. Finally, the wife, has given me the go ahead to start on my garage. So, we're in the checkout at Lowes (getting more stuff for the house...not the garage), and my wife points out a magazine and says "that's a nice garage, you should do yours like that!" I laugh and tell her "I 'know' that garage and have been studying it for two years." When I get home I show her one of the two pictures I have tacked up on my garage for inspiration. She just shakes her head. It's a small garage world. Thanks for your great work and post here. Congrats on the article. I don't think I know anyone who has been on the front of at least two different magazines...except maybe Jack (Saw him in Popular Mechanics.)

That's really cool, it is a small garage world. So when are you getting started on yours?

Your Garage was a big inspiration for my garage, not so much all the detail as i picked different flooring/colors, I just wanted to make sure the end result looked as clean and put together as yours. I with I would have had more room along the sides to add extra work benches and more upper cabniets but I guess we work with what we have.

I got them at Menards. I'm sure there might be better ones, but for the money, I really can't complain. And the T8's are soooo much nicer than T12's.

Nice garage... I am looking to have a slab poured for a garage and like the look of the slab on page 1 here. What is the proper terminology to describe that cement look/finish? How is that done? Is it troweled to that smooth look?
That car is awesome. Great job.

By far my favorite garage build on here. Fantastic job!

Between the look, the functionality, and the car, you have made me very garage envious... well done!

I may be making a 3 1/2 car version of your garage in the near future...

I just read through 18 pages of this garage/Camaro build and I am flat out impressed. Nice job on both great use of space! Nice to see someone close to home also, I am from LaCrosse, Wi. and a huge Camaro fan myself. Currently building my fifth gen Camaro into my dream car because the 1st gens are just to hard to find and afford. May have to pick your brain a bit, a friend is resto modding a 69 Firebird right now in LaCrosse and may be installing an LS powerplant as well. Keep up the good work and I will be looking forward to more posts.

Cool, another LS conversion. It's the only way to go. I'll never put another dinosaur small block or big block in another car.

If you have questions about the swap, shoot me a PM. Your friend has a lot of options these days.

XcYZ - love the ride and the shop! I do have a few questions on your soffit shelves. How did you anchor these into the stids and rafters - screws or lag bolts? Also - did you sheetrock the front face of the 2x6's - I cannot tell from the photos. Thanks!

This needs a bump, and I should be breaking ground for my 24x24 garage this spring! Could you show a picture with 2 cars in at the same time? I'm just curious on clearance. Beautiful garage and if I could copy any garage, it would be yours.

Stumbled upon this when Googling images for design inspiration for my garage and couldn't help but read this thread from start to finish. Impeccable, from concept to reality. One thing that really struck me was that your garage looked huge, I thought it was a deep 3 car. I have a somewhat shallow 3 car so hopefully I can use the space and design it half as well as you have.

I unfortunately don't have room to rip off your soffit cabinets as the garage door rails are in the way, but I'll be going for your clean style.

Thanks. Glad you found my ideas useful. The pics make the garage look huge as I have a wide angle lens.

This is truly an amazingly beautiful garage. It has been the inspiration for my garage and given me many great ideas. I want to do the soffit storage next. Thank you for the great thread.
