I bought this in-store today... had an in-store-only offer that expires tomorrow that I needed to use, and wasn't sure if the in-store price would be as good as online since it's currently an "online-only" sale, but it was actually even cheaper in-store!!

IRWIN Extending Screwdriver with 5 Impact Bits
http://www.sears.com/irwin-extending-screwdriver-with-5-impact-bits/p-00952270000P
$16.99 regularly, $12.52 current "online only" sale, $11.82 current in-store sale!
Date codes on the store pricetag indicate it went down to that price on March 11, and will stay at that price till April 7.

And when I made my in-store purchase today, it generated a new $10 off $10 offer (surprise-points-freecash-style, without a coupon barcode) that will be good next week, starting Monday! :rocker:

They seem to be giving out either offers or coupons like that every 'weekend' lately (Fri-Sat-Sun) instead of just holiday weekends, so it's best to try to make in-store purchases on those days when possible.

Thanks to whoever was talking about Sears price protection guarantee...

Item I bought earlier this month was actually $20 less today (better than when they were running the 10% off on tools)... I couldn't get the stupid form to work in FireFox, Chrome, or IE, so I chatted with support. He credited me the $20 + tax after giving him the order #, no hassle, no fuss... I checked my other few big items and they were all same price.

Just a heads up that is the type of offer I had disappear on Tuesday. That was supposed to be good all week.

Man, I futzed around with their convoluted price protection form a few months ago when I had about a $10 price drop IIRC, but all I got back were useless clueless denials from someone overseas who had little to no understanding of both English and Sears policies. It's only more recently that people have been reporting being able to successfully do this using Sears chat instead. I wish that had been a workable option for this longer ago! (I think they used to just point you to the form if you tried to chat about it.) That thing a few months ago was my only chance in a while at a worthwhile price difference; more recent purchases have all been at the lowest price in a while or only like $1 difference or so.

Did you ever try putting test items in your cart to see if it was actually still working? Offers often disappear from the displayed list but still work in the cart (and at the register in store, when applicable).

Just got an app notification of this deal, but I'm guessing it was in effect all week, since it ends Sat night.

"Members get 10% CASHBACK in Points on all Lawn & Garden at Sears. Points awarded next day and valid for 7 days. Max $50 in points/1 time per member. .ONLINE ONLY.Valid through March 24, 2018 11:59 PM CDT"

When I had a price drop, I called in and they matched the new price, TWICE. I saw the first correction, but then several days later I received an email saying we have to reverse the earlier correction. I was about to flip out, until I looked at the account, and they reversed the extra price match they made. So they do have money to double check the representatives work.

Thanks. I was looking at that last week, at ~$12. There were several on the peg, so I decided to use my offer on another item that was the last one. I know I'll rarely use it, but seeing that picture really shows off how far it extends. Much farther than I imagined while actually holding it. Made in Taiwan if I recall.

Thank you @Hexen! Perfect timing. I saw some CF US made long screwdriver at Ace Hardware over weekend, but for some reason I can not find it at Sears. This IRWIN will do just fine!

RE: Price match. I never have problems. I have filled up the price protection form several times, and have chatted with the CS online. Always got my money and/or points back.

@Minions I just chat with the CS. My scriber is now supposedly be here end of the month, so 2 weeks late from the original date.

Yep, Taiwan. :) It is a really neat design, and feels well-made.

I was kind of expecting him to say something too since the current price is an "Online Only Price"... Though my original order was online too...

Occasionally the in-store price is actually the same as or better than a supposedly "online only" price, so perhaps that was in your favor too. :)

Grabbed these today in store, no bounceback coupon :(

I had to go to another register to pay. The person at the checkout in tools told me that I didn't have any Freecash, and was a complete jerk. Then when I tried to walk away with the tools to go to another register, he tried to stop me! "I'll put those back away." He had answered the phone while I was at the register however, so I just walked away.

The other register had no issues finding and applying my Freecash!

So my spark plug pliers got canceled :(

I think my scribe is gonna do the same thing. I wonder what causes ship to store orders to never process after placing orders some times.

I don't like hearing that. I'm still waiting on that, and a pair of Knipex 6" cobra pliers, which is what I really have been waiting for. :(

For items that had ridiculously-far-out ship dates, they were probably hoping to be able to order more from the supplier by then, but their order got delayed or cancelled. Probably Sears having trouble keeping up with their payables in a timely manner again... :(

Hmm that does not sounds good... how did it got cancelled? Did you call/chat and then they cancel it?

I chat with the CS, and he said my scriber is delayed due to backordered.

I am not too upset if they cancel it, but I do like to have my points back asap. If they want to cancel, I rather they cancel it now so I can buy something else.

I guess I can wait until end of month since it is only a few days left, and if it still is not available, I will contact them again.

I got a few other things on order beside the scriber. Hoping that the scriber is the only one Sears having problem fulfilling the order.

Here's another potential gotcha to be aware of - according to a new post on SD, Sears is now pushing to issue OOP refunds as gift cards instead of refunding to your method of payment, in at least some situations.

"I have an issue with the way Sears processed a cancelled order. It was an order to receive $25 points for spending $50. I made the purchase, used a credit card. They cancelled the order and issued a GIFT CARD for the purchase price. No refund on the credit card. I contacted them and they state this is their new policy? I asked where does it state this and I was told it is being published."

Probably not a big deal in most cases (you can probably find something else at Sears you'd be happy spending that money on instead of what you originally spent it on at Sears), just don't sit on that gift card for very long.

I vaguely recall hearing, some months ago, that doing a chargeback in this kind of situation could cause your account to get banned. So it's probably best to just accept the gift card and use it promptly.

And here's another potential gotcha to be aware of, on in-store purchases... I've never been asked this myself, but don't fall for it if you do ever run into a clerk who asks this (just tell them you'll check when you get home):

"On a recent trip to Kmart, the cashier asked if I wanted to see if my purchase triggered any new surprise points and scanned my membership card again after I checked out. Apparently, she didn't clear my info, cause the person behind me cleaned out the last $20 in points in my account. I can see their purchase in my account history. I'm not even mad. I'm actually impressed with how Sears/Kmart find new and surprising ways to screw things up these days."

(Note for anyone wondering why that guy has a 'membership card': In the early days of the SYW program, physical membership cards were given out. I printed myself a card using something that is or was available in my SYW profile, but always just type in my phone number on the PIN pad instead of messing with the card. I think it's more common for people to use the card at Kmarts, which I don't have in my area.)

The gift card refund sounds illegal - how they can get away with that? Lots of complaints will be coming for sure. To redeem points, a PIN must be entered. How can points be redeemed from scanning the membership card? That would be the same as entering your phone number.

Actually, it's been a flaw for years that you don't have to enter your PIN to redeem points. :( It will always prompt you to, but most cashiers will automatically bypass the PIN requirement on purchases under $10 if you don't enter it fast enough, and even on larger purchases the cashier can still bypass it if you convince them that you just forgot it. I don't know for sure if Sears keeps records of whether the PIN was entered or not, but I always enter mine even on small purchases; if they do keep track, pointing out to support that the PIN was not entered on a disputed purchase might help in a situation like that.

Yeah the cashiers can bypass the PIN... I wonder if the scam was actually the cashier buying something?

I believe they can only bypass the pin on lower price purchases. When I bought a $50 item they said it forces the pin. It could also be using over a certain amount of points triggers it.

My Spark Plug Pliers were "estimate 2/22/18" ship to store date. They seemed to cancel the order a month ish after that estimate date, and after I had inquired a week after the 2/22/ date to customer support.

i went to pick up a different order. they do call you sometimes from the automated toll free # when they don't really tell you which one ( if you have more than one order ) is ready for pickup. It can be frustrating because sometimes there's nothing to pick up even when you get the call and they are clueless. All I am saying is your scribers may still show up since mine just did. good luck.

50% back in points on most all tools. Can anyone confirm if online only?

Does anyone know if you can return Craftsman purchased at a Sears appliance and Hardware to a normal Sears?

Some stuff I ordered through Sears app as an online order so assuming no issue there returning to a normal Sears.

Other stuff bought in store and the receipt that printed is definitely not a normal Sears one. The guy matched the lower of Sears and the appliance website which was cool.

I bought a bunch of stuff between F&F and the 50% back. The one time no sale going on. Not great timing even though got a grip of no longer available stuff but it was the only time I'm going to be at that store for the next few years.

Check your purchase history on shopyourway.com and/or sears.com. If the purchases show up there, they should be returnable at a regular Sears store.

But be aware that you probably do not want to return anything that you earned a significant amount of cashback points from if you have already spent those points... you end up with a negative amount of points in your account that can be hard to come back from.

Thanks for the info!

Actually want to return for the opposite reason. Spent over $200 and only got $1.86 back in points. Not going to settle for that!

Since looks like online only I'm going to have to stick to the SKUs that I can still get from Sears online. That won't be much since I found some really weird old stuff there that doesn't show in the Sears system at all anymore. But anything I got the USA version of should be no issue ordering the Chinese and returning the Chinese with the full price receipt from the USA item so I get the points.

Great time to grab some Knipex pliers with the 50% in cashback points.
This is what I've done. Between the $10 back for every $30, and the 50% back, I've now gotten 7 different Knipex pliers at an average $16.50 each. Pro tip: search the site by "Knipex", click Sears from the sellers list, then sort by price low-to-high.

There are several in the $20-$30 range that are competitively priced even without the points back, including the smaller linesmans and the 10" cobras, along with some diagonal cutters. I'd look at ones up to $45 or $55 too though, as there are many that aren't as competitively priced, but they're less than 50% overpriced, so with the points back, they're still the best deals you're likely to find. For example, $44 with $22 back in points is pretty darn good for the small 5" pliers-wrench.

Where did you see the $10 off every $30? I can't find that.

I didn't see on my Freecash page about the 50% either? Is it p[possible I am not eligible for these?

What are the most useful sizes of those Pliers Wrenches?

I believe you are confused it was $10 in points after a $30 purchase. The current offer is 50% back, ie $15 in points after a $30 purchase. You are eligible as long as you have shop your way.

Sorry, the $10 off $30 was the deal they had a couple weeks ago on tools. Then they had the F&F 10% off last week. Now is the 50% up to $50 back on tools. That one is on the Sears homepage right now.
