The Mysterious Mr X, a well known bubble buster lol.

I have a spare P&C 4 way lug wrench up for trade to any lusting collector, whatcha got?

On a positive note, he called my 1/4" drive breaker bar "rare" - as in the first one he's put his hands on.

I have a 4-way lug wrench but it's not up for trade. I bet Smokeshow would be interested!

I don't buy P&C as a general rule, but couldn't pass up this massive "pry bar" piece today:

Random post. Does anyone have any long-pattern combo wrenches?

The only one in my collection is this 9/16". I have no idea where I acquired it.

These all are in great condition, but two of them appear to say P&O but everything, even the style, reflects P&C. They are all owner-marked by "Gil".

I have a Proto MFD set. I think you may have got that P&C from me. I had one at one time, I vaguely remember selling or trading with someone in your area of Oregon a couple of years ago. IDK for sure

There were some of those in the P&C stuff I had a year or so ago and tried to sell:

Think I got a big one also in with a bunch of Plomb last summer; they look so much alike I got it mixed in. I left the rest of the set at the sale, was just after the Plomb.

Pretty much just like Proto, just marked P&C.

If I had seen your lot for sale, I would have purchased it! Got any more like it?

A few P&C items. The puller has a Plomb wheel on it.

I threw them in the discard bucket when they didn't sell, but I think I put them in the storage before I took them down and traded them off to the local store. I'll set them aside to trade to you for something when I move into my shop. Probably have another dozen or two pieces to throw in with them now. Have the big wrench, and I know I picked up a 5/16" or 1/4" one last week. Might throw in the big screwdriver/pry bar, but it's residing in my user tools at the moment as it filled a niche I didn't have already. Always a few pieces of P&C in with the other stuff I buy. They're in with the general "get rid of" box of USA made tools that have some value to someone, that don't get thrown out immediately. This stuff accumulates at an incredible rate sometimes. Just to get a few Proto or Williams or Snap-on that I don't already have.

Those oldtimers look to be in great shape. Could you post a pic of the jaws on the two comb. wrenches?

Do you think that the wheel came with the puller accidentally from the manufacturer or is it a replacement? I could see that happening if they were all made in the same factory.

-Don

Don, not sure if they came together or not. The puller base is chromed but the bolt and wheel aren’t.

Tin, I noticed your P&C No. 19 chisel.

Here is a No. 18. I think this is supposed to be a 1” blade but comes in a little under.

At the urging of Mr. X, I dug out and photographed this early P&C double box wrench.

Aside from the lack of markings, what really jumped out at me was the primitive broaching at both ends. Identified in the 1927 catalog as No. 8283 "Double offset 1923 & 1924 Chevrolet M. B. box wrenches" (yes, plural) 13/16" x 7/8". Catalog price: $3.35 (a fortune, imo).

I think you'll agree that this wrench accurately fits the "hand forged tools" mantra of P&C.

Awesome! Needs to be in the Tiny Tools thread as well, not to mention the hammertime thread!!

And I'm not ignoring your comments. Unfortunately, I'm using the browser on my phone to access GJ so searching through threads is a pita. I usually wait for threads to be updated and bumped to the first page before posting to them 😁

Little P&C hammer that came today, and a group shot with some other Plomb and P&C hammers

According to my inflation calculator, that's 506$ 2018 dollars

And speaking of eBay purchases, this came today. I snapped it up after only being listed for a couple hours.

Not your normal run of the mill slip-joint pliers. Really heavy and comfortable handles.
Were these made by P&C or for P&C by another company?

Guessing mid 30's or 40's?

Did you get those out on foothills drive? I passed up a pair like that yesterday there; also passed up proto wrenches which is unusual for me. Don't need any more and tired of having to pass them on.....

They had a fair amount of other nice stuff too. Brought more than I should have of it home.

Yep, I figured I beat you there, since I didn't see you. I got there at 8:45.
No big scores but it was worth cutting out of work to go.

Man, those pre Plomb acquisition 8 series P&C pliers are so much scarcer than the later 12XX series ones. Nice find.

I don't find much P&C around my neck of the woods so I was happy to come across this 4oz hammer head (no handle) today at the flea.
