Probably just some kind of unknown forge code. (Or a very early date code! "V" would actually fit for 1915, but they usually came in pairs for the months, and it's not thought that they started date coding that early. The company was still known as Bonney Vise & Tool Works when your wrench was made, not Bonney Tool & Forge. That's how old that is.) It sure looks like the largest (No. K) of the machinery wrenches to me. I have no idea if they were marking model numbers that early. Probably not. I was just curious what that was. The wrench sure looks like it is made from malleable iron from here. When you tap it with a small jeweler's hammer, does it give off a dull thud (iron) or ring (steel)?

Seriously, not only is that HD set decal not centered on the handle, it's not centered front to back either! BTW, I didn't say I ascribed to the theory, only that it seemed to be the one several people have pointed to!
