I got in on the order in second phase of being in stock....But so far, my order has been on backorder and they are saying if not in stock or resupply by Jan 5...then there are going to cancel my order..... crazy..

they have in stock the polisher tool only options. and the battery pack separate in stock ready to ship and sell... So i called them saying why they can't send me the ones in stock as 2 separate items to package as original order...essentially the same. But they said no...its different packaging box...whatever...looks like I am going to be screwed out.

Got mine today. Took a while to ship. It came in two boxes. The add a tool box with battery and charger and the polisher as tool only.

Unfortunately it is all sku'd differently in the system, but I had item go back order the other day and gave me a Jan 25 cancel date. 2 days later it shipped. Also a Milwaukee product.

While I don't see them trying to match the deal today, make sure to get a copy of your order (price disappears from your account when order is cancelled), and call after if it gets cancelled. They are more likely to work with you then

It’s been $144 with discounts many times but have not seen it for less yet. It’s on my list when it goes for $119 or maybe $129.

That Maxtool gift code works with other purchases. I used it for the Milwaukee 18ga brad nailer, getting the price down $254 (in the cart, haven't paid yet). Has anyone seen that brad nailer cheaper anywhere? (tool only).

Thanks

There was a combo with an 8.0 battery from home depot for 280, if you bought in store you could return the battery and it came out to like 165.

Farm & fleet, $254. But they are wankers about returning the battery at some locations. Don't understand there own receipts and what pro-rates means, even though the value is shown on their receipt for return.

Online orders have different SKU numbers and bundle the items, requiring them to be returned together.

In-store purchases have two different SKU numbers and separate the items, with each item having a "return value" listed on the receipt. This permits you to return items individually for the discounted amount listed.

Thank you. I panicked last time so I told them I didn't have a receipt. Lol. I wasn't sure what the correct way was. This was an in-store purchase and the 2.0 is sold separately so I figured I wasn't doing the return properly. Thanks for the clarification (albeit I never look at my receipts so I'm not sure if it had the return values stated):D

The under hood light is 1350 lumens on bright, the new M12 rover service light is 700 and can pivot. I'd highly recommend using the new service light (i have two, they are amazing) with the built-in magnet instead and save money as they are about $59 each.

AcmeTools (in-stock), AceTools (in-stock), ToolNut, CPO Tools, all seem to have them already. HD doesn't carry it yet.

Nothing beats the underhood light when doing engine work. It's not even the brightness of the light, but the fact that it spans the whole engine bay so you don't have to move lights around.

I've got an under hood light, it has worked great on almost everything so far. The hood on my friend's S2000 was so narrow that we had to **** the light sideways quite a bit to get it to hold but it still worked out great.

a good headlamp beats it. the light's always shining on what you're looking at :)

headlamps create shadows since the light only comes from 1 direction. The hood light has lighting coming from multiple directions right above everything, which eliminate that.

why do you care about a shadow cast where you're not actively looking?

there's not a lot of parallax between your eyes and the lamp. that's what's so attractive.
if a shadow's cast behind an object, that's a spot you can't see anyway.

it would be another thing if you were taking a photo.

Sometimes headlamps are great and other times they make it hard to see. If you have to get your head in close to something and then the light gets obstructed making a shadow as opposed to if you had a light source coming from further back, the light would make it around objects and give you a better view. Doesn't always happen but it can be very annoying when it does.

Snap-On makes a really cool shoulder lamp that solves the head lamp problem, it lights up from the left and the right and you can angle it all different ways to get light where you need it. I was thinking of getting one but I haven't needed it since I got the under hood lamp and they don't work when laying on your back.

If you don't see the point of the under hood light, no big deal but there are lots of poeple, me included, that see quite a bit of value from it.

good point. usually, you can angle the headlamp a bit to deal with that issue, but occasionally not. really, the more lighting options you have at your disposal, the better.

that said, if i could have only one, i'll take a headlamp any day.

ps: i didn't say i don't see the point. i just said i think a headlamp is superior.
it was in response to a statement that began with "nothing beats...", which is an equally strong claim.

I almost bought that m12 tripod flashlight setup and do return battery trick at HD.... but upon closer inspection of the m12 tripod flashlight....it was pretty much very fragile and tripod was not steady and was worried it might break, body is very plastic, not tuff build quality.... otherwise its great price and setup....

but eventually,,, I went back to my husky 3000 lumen wired tripod one cheap too... and now I have a Fenix headlight that I use almost 99% of time for whatever and its got 18650 battery.... works great for me now. I got mine with 20% off code on website...
