I've had a couple issues with the tilt table, but not specifically with the taper pin regarding table alignment.
The first was on dp#24 where the tapered pin was missing from the table. The PO drilled and tapped the taper hole from the top and bottom and added a third tapped hole and bolt on the side of the table/tilt.
The second was on dp#25 where I could not tilt the table or remove the table from the support after the taper pin and the tilt lock were removed. I believe a previous owner drove the taper pin in too hard and too far which deformed the parts.
First, is the table support in the correct orientation relative to the table, i.e., is it upside down?
Second, do the table and table support appear to match? Does the shade of the paint match? It's possible that taper bores on mis-matched parts were machined differently.
The tapered pin should be tapped in first (not banged in) to align the table and then the lock tightened.
A couple more pictures with the table support may help.

Upon inspection it appears that I put the table clamp upside down. I'll fix that first before trying to figure out anything else.
I have quite a dilemma with the paint though, especially the front of the table has a lot of surface rust and original paint is gone, so I'm not sure if to repaint or not.
The table and base surface cleaned up pretty nice.

Has anyone tried to match the original paint when repainting? Do you have the paint numbers? Did you have to have a custom paint made? How many spray cans for one DP?
It's funny how the original paint looks more blue at the place where it was covered while the faded turned towards green.

Hey guys this may be a dumb question but recently got a drillpress and plan on refurbishing it. I know this ***** but the only pick I have of it before disassemble. Im terrible at pictures also one of the serial number. Does this mean it is a 103 model?

That’s a part number. But yet the 103 does mean it’s a King Seeley. The full model number is on a plate on top of the floor stand right in front of where the column inserts into the base.

I hope I'm wrong, but I think that quill/spindle assembly from ebay is from a 13-1/2" Craftsman 80 drill press. I believe yours is a 15-1/2" Craftsman 100.
That ebay seller has a bunch of other Craftsman 80 parts in active listings.
What's wrong with the original quill/spindle?
I hate that we can't see full completed ebay listings any longer (unless there's another way).

What part are you looking for on the completed listings? I just searched “craftsman drill press” and then filtered by sold items. Then I clicked on it and there is a link to see original listing.

What’s the difference between an 80 and 100 quill and or chuck? I know my old 80 (actually “100”) has a 1/2” chuck but my floor 100 has a 5/8” chuck.

I just figured it out... the word "listing" in the above message is a link to the original listing. That just started for me a couple weeks ago.
The 80 quill and spindle are shorter than the 100/150. The chuck is the same.
If you have a 5/8" capacity chuck on a 100, I don't believe it's original.

No, you didn't screw up, the seller did.
I checked last night... the quill for a 100/150 has 20 ground gear rack slots. That one has 16 for a smaller Craftsman 80.
The seller does not know what they're selling and you can easily win a dispute. It'll be a pain, but you should get most/all of your money back.

If all they said was for a "103" they are all 103's. that's the MFG ID, NOT the model number...

It will fit, but will likely not work well. It may work for shallow feeds, but will likely pull out of the spindle pulley for deeper feeds. If it does pull out of the pulley while running, the feed return is going to be ugly when the pulley is spinning at 600 rpm and the spindle is at 0 rpm.
I've never tried an 80 quill/spindle in a 100/150. I'll have to post some comparison photos and dimensions of each size.
Here's a quick picture of a quill/spindle assy from a 13½" dp next to a quill/spindle assy from a 15½" dp. I don't have all measurements yet, but the diameter of both are 1-5/8".

I don't think that's an option. Many of the 80's had sleeve bushings up top, and the 100's I believe were ball bearing.

The sleeve bushing presses were the 12 1/4” presses without the headbands. The 80/100/150s had ball bearings.
Only difference I’ve noticed between 80 and 100 bearings is my 1947 80 (actually called 100 in 1947) had single side shields where my 1956 100 had double shielded bearings. This may have been a change through the years though.

holes are at the top front of the drill press. One on either side just below the name plate. Second, does anyone have a hub for the handles and one

If you have access to a MIG tack the hole of a fender washer to the stub, then tack a nut to the fender washer and use a wrench to screw it out. You may even be able to use epoxy if you dont have a MIG if the stub is not in too tight.

$200 bucks. So not way too cheap, but well worth it I think. I'm not really sure what the Vari-slo is worth, but that was the only reason why I bought it!
At this point I'm not sure yet if I'll move the Vari-slo on the 100 DP I'm restoring right now or keep both. This 150 is pretty cool and nice looking too, but do I really need three DPs??

a broken piece of screw extractor in there. Finally drilled it out with this thing called a Rescue Bit that is designed to drill through extractors.
I am now in need of one handle with a Burgundy knob. Does anyone have an extra one for sale?

If you end up moving a varislow assembly or even pieces, please let me know. I need a control arm and gauge and the arm that goes to the first pulley. FYI your new purchase is not quite a you **** but is fairly close in my opinion!

I made some progress on the Craftsman 100 DP restoration, the paint turned out really great.
I misplaced the spacer with the nut cut out that is used to hold the head frame on the column (Headstock lock - part #18119). Really hoping I find it! For now I'm going to use the part from the 150 which doesn't have the nut cut out but has a thread instead (Headstock and Table Lock - part #18121), which will work just fine. If anyone has an extra or would be willing to help me reproduce one (I don't have the machinery), I'd be grateful.
