I am rearranging my boards and will get pics up when I am finished.

They are going from being users with tools that I work with to being empty wall art.

Man, those are nice. It'd be cool to have a full compliment to this one. I JUST got this over the weekend. Actually, my son in law found it at the Pasadena City College Flea Market for me. This is after I wiped it clean with plain water and 0000 steel wooled the aluminum frame. Its got a little damage but nothing I can't easily repair:

BonneyToolBoard.jpg

Not sure I'll use it to actually hold tools - I don't own a "Bonney" tool, but I may use it simply as wall hanging art in my garage!

Do you meam ask for Bonney wrenches here on the board? Hadn't thought of that. All the part numbers for the wrenches is noted on the board so in theory I SHOULD be bale to find them.

My pic-taking skills leave a lot to be desired. I am in the process of moving boards around, but here is what I have on my walls now. I have another handful of boards in my basement that need to be hung, too. I've owned at least fifteen other boards from different brands, but sold all those off over the years.

I have 1 Snappy screwdriver board and I picked up an Industro needing restore for $5 awhile back. For whatever reason I think they are cool and I'll pick them up if I can find them. I need to try and fix the Industro one. The Snappy one isn't too bad and I have most of the screwdriver's for it too.

Bull, Looks great. Some of those boards look familiar to me for some reason;-)

Functional art. Kool

Yeah, you got real intimate with about ten of these as I recall! Several of those I still need to hang up. My barn has been in constant state of flux for the past several years, so I haven't gotten to hanging some stuff yet.

Other than posters of hot chicks, I can't think of anything that would look better on the walls than vintage tool boards!

Just picked these up recently at an estate sale and already posted in Jeff's garage sale thread but here they are again...

I could actually use some advice on em'.
I was considering giving them to my girlfriend's father for his birthday (with a bottle of booze of course). He's worked in the tool industry forever and has given me more tools than I can count. Obviously they're not Snap-on & they'd be a much nicer gift if they were filled but it would also give me something to look for in the future.

Any idea of the year these might've come from? Were the Challenger tools decent in their day?
And any opinions? Would YOU like these as a gift?
Or should I look for something better to get the guy that's been around tools his entire life? :dunno:

Thanks.

Challenger was a Proto budget line. Being that they came before my time, I'm going to say that they were probably good. Personal connection: My dad's first tools were Challenger.

A tool board is about the coolest gift I could think of getting. And I'd have thought that BEFORE finding this site.

Heres a few pics of my Proto boards posted earlier. I've had these for a while, and they are still not totally filled yet. They are more complete than these pics show, but still a work in progress.

This is my newest board. Its a Utica Tools plier and adjustable wrench board. I live a couple of miles from the old factory, so it's kind of a special project to me.

These are the rest of my Proto boards. I haven't started to fill these yet.

And lastly here is a pic of an Indestro board I picked up at an estate sale a while ago. I will most likely be getting rid of this one. I'm not really into Indestro Tools, and figure someone who collects Indestro would appreciate it more than me.

Out of curiosity, how much do vintage tool boards sell for?

There are some Blackhawk boards listed on eBay right now. The listing prices are around $50 or more. Then you gotta consider the shipping. In my opinion, those are Kool Aid prices. If not, I am sitting on $1500 in tool boards.

I have seen them for as little as $5. I think $30 is a good starting point for a non Snap-on board. If you just plain need one to complete a set or feed an addiction, then sure, you are going to be willing to pay more.

My Utica board I paid $25. The 2 Proto LA boards I think were around $70 for the pair. The Indestro I paid approx $20 for ( I bought a bunch of stuff as a package deal) The other empty Proto boards I can't recall what the price was, but I think they were less than $20 each.

Oh No I bought them from Snap On at the race

The work bench is mounted below each tool cabinet the entire cabinet with the lights mounted within are one modular black hawk unit

Can you give us some close-up pics of the benches? These are new to me, and I am fascinated.
