Hi there,

Im Dane and this is my first garage. Town house with the neighbors house attached. There's 4 in our complex on a block of land that would have used to be one house back before Sydney got overtaken with high density housing. Anyway here's what the tiny single looks like as of today.

That is a small space. You've got some work to do. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Don't let the small space discourage you. Great things happen in one car garages. We have a lot of them on here. Plus you have your shed to help things out. I will be looking forward to see how you set things up.

Best Wishes

Thanks for the encouragement guys im only 24 and words of wisdom from some of the older fellas always helps.

did a bit of a tidy up these last 2 days. spent most of the time thinking of what tools and machinery i wish i had to put in here.

I moved this old bench out of the shed, I cant really work out there as theres no power.

It was heaps rickety so i busted it up to use later. kept the gal sheet off the top too.

The corner where it was. Now all paints and gardening stuff that takes up room in the garage and doesnt need to be there.

And heres the shed now with the pushies moved from the garage and the leisure stuff out from under the stairs.

The back shelf still needs a re-org but the fuel cell should be going in my car in the next week or so. Dads bringing me back a roll cab for my toll box to go on from the states too. Gotta mount the grinder and that vice thats still in the box aswell. Unfortunatly the pram and my daughters little trike have to stay there for the moment.

looks alot better
still have to go through the locker on the right it has all my metal and offcuts etc in it.

Going to build a fold out work bench under the switch box as this is the only power point location in here. All the powertools are stored underneith in the "checkerplate" box.
The 2 shelves on the right will hopefully be empty soon as thats mostly my wifes stuff. And those with a keen eye may notice some of the old workbench that was in the shed holding up the fasterner storage shelf. That shelf was only 1400 high and i felt like it was wasting space if i didnt get it up and put some storage underneith.
I have alot of bigger priorites money wise than the garage so i know that its not the most spacially economical way but it cost nothing.

Anyway i'll put some more up when i get some more done

Looks great!!! I agree with 1/2 cup totally. You might want to think about one of my rules for keepin' and pitchin'? "If you have not used it in ten to twenty years, out it goes"---(Just Kidding). Or as someone else said ""If in doubt, throw it out".

I am a guy who once stepped over a box of clean rags to ask my wife is she knew where any clean rags were.

Best Regards

Yeah Herb im pretty ruthless when it comes to throwing things out if i havent used it in 2 years, Bin food, if its broken, bin food, if its worth nothing, bin food. Im not very sentimental either but i have a soft spot for useful things if i see a nut or screw on the ground ill keep it and add it to my collection.

Just finished my fold down workbench today. So here it is:

Screwed the 1400mm long piece of 35x90 structural pine to the wall studs.
the top will hinge off this.

Made the frame out of the same 35x90 and added the pockets for the removable legs.

I cut down an old piece of 20mm plywood that was left here by the previous owner. 1400x700. this is how the top frame sits on the support piece and hinges

the legs just have a bolt through them to stop me kicking them out from underneath. I couldn't think of a good way to have them hinge and fold up also as the are 1080mm long. so I just made them pull out.

This is what it turned out like 1400x700x1100 nice and tall for me as im 6'4"

And folded away. (if I move the tool box it would sit against the wall but this is all I need to get the car in.)

legs stored ontop

And also mounted my little vice. big one will go on the shelves at the back with the grinder.

Questions and comments welcome

Nice work. My first place only had a single garage and a car port. You can do a lot in a small space if you are organized.

That white MTB looks like a HASA. I've got a HASA road bike and MTB. Very happy with both of them.

Keep us posted

Cheers

Michael

Heres where she is today.

I have got a welder now so im thinking of things to make i put another shelf into the unit at the back this is my first bead ever.

Pretty happy with it but please let me know how i can improve.

I just chucked up a build for this little stand for the grinder vice and linisher.

Now i need to make one for the welder thats on the floor there.
I also got my dads handmedown rollcab for my toolbox.

I guess its not really much to show but it sure "feels" nicer working in there now.

Yeah it's full of more sh$t! Haha we are looking to be in a new place by this time next year so I haven't been working "on" it but just "in" it. Built a few bobbers for mates and I redesigned my rear suspension on the hilux in the driveway. Leaf springs to coilovers.

Cool! Any pictures of the suspension or bobbers? I want to get myself a bike at some point. Been tossing up the idea of lowering the f250 a bit forever too, but more of a muscle truck look than a mini truck. Probably just convert to axle over leaf and run some tramp bars - it axle tramps bad! Where are you looking to move? House prices in Sydney are insane!

Here's a pic of the truck with the coils, 4 link, chassis notch etc.

before and after height shot

And heres where im at now sheeting the inside of the tub

the f250 will look good low man most yank trucks do.

We'll stay in the same area I think just upgrade to a house rather than town house. My wife just finished uni and starts work after Christmas so we can spend a bit more. also house prices are crazy but seeing as we already own it means we should do alright out of selling ours
ill post the bike pics in a sec I cant find any on the pc
