Here is my 44' x 32' garage plan.
It is going well.
Will be adding more pics soon.
Would love to have you guys offer suggestions & comments.
I welcome all.
Went with the two 18' doors to enable best use of size.
Ceiling is 12'.
I will follow up with more details shortly.
It has a full bath, shop area, Man Cave area as well as a walk up attic.

I'm having trouble seeing the print clearly, but what will be the primary function of your structure? Seems to be the same as my plans, shop/escape from the wife haha.

The pic is poor I have to agree. When I attempted to load it, it was too large. Had to do a work around, which now looking at it, didn't work very well. I will try something else. Thanks for the comment.

As for your question. I have a a 1978 325I I am working on, along with normal work to keep the zero turn & boat going. The shop will be home to my chop saw, drill press, belt sander, and scroll saw and other tools. This will also have work areas for the drone and RC truck I waste time with from time to time. Now, the Man Cave area will be the home to an old pot belly stove I pickup up in the early 70's. It has been moved around forever and now will have a place to set up and actually USE. The rest of the room is plumbed for a kitchen/bar.

Howdy neighbor, well almost. I'm in Fredericksburg. I can't help much with your design, but I know how nice it is to have a place of your own to work. I have a 2 car garage full of equipment; welder, blast cabinet, metal cutting saws, surface grinder, band saw, compressor, grinders etc. Then in my downstairs shop is a metal lathe, milling machine, metal shaper, drill press, die filer and work shop areas. But I still don't have enough room! Enjoy what you have and, make it your own!

Hey ndncf,
When the closest Lowe's is in Fredericksburg then Yes, you are a neighbor.
This garage started our to be a 40'-60', and I was concerned then, that it would be too small.
But...... the budget came into play and the plan became what it is today., Well, it is what it is, and I will make the best of it. Glad to have something.

Looking good man! Garages are a man's best friend, I have been garageless for 7 years and I'm not quite sure how I am not in a sanitarium! Looking forward to seeing this throughout the phases

thanks for that info. I have been to that one twice. I saw some finds, nothing I could use this time, but the stock changes often, so it needs to be checked out from time to time for sure.

And you will love the 12' ceilings. I know walk into my buddy's garage with his 8' walls and I want to duck. It seems so low compared to my 13'4" ceilings.

What did you do for insulation and covering on those huge walls? I have been all over the place - plywood and peg board, sheet rock, combination, ???

Mike,
Sounds like a great shop/hide away. Fill it with all your favorite machines and keep the floor space open for big projects. That is how I approach max utilization of any work space. The drawing looked like you had things in different open sections with cabinets dividing the two big floor areas. Thanks for sharing. Matt

Have one of the rooms set up for workshop/benches/drill press and other saws and the like. The other room will be the "ManCave" , then there is the full bath.

The two 18' wide garage doors have been set for for a drive through. This should provides easier access to enable me to back in the boat while not going through the front part of the garage.

Progress is looking great. It looks like your covered toys can't wait. Are you painting to match home or red barn style?

These will give a good place to store that stuff I don't need downstairs and keep it out of the garage play/work areas.

Here are the stairs going up to the attic. So glad I don't have to fight this dang pull down stairs any more. [emoji28]

Added another window in the Man Cave / kitchen area. Should bring enough light in now.

Well you are doing it right. I debated the choice of a porch to sort of break up the front of the building or an attic.....juggling the money. Screw it.....I did both. So happy with the walk up stairs, the attic, .........I'm telling you, you will never regret it. And a potty to boot! Nice.
