Hey there I'm the NewAge garage cabinet distributor.

I've been thinking about adding this thread for those who have NewAge cabinets. I'm going to add some previous thread links and posts to get this started.

This thread from cmarcusatl includes a video on installing a garage sink in a Pro series 2 door base cabinet. Here's the full thread.

It's been quite some time since my original post, but I was able to successfully get a sink into a NewAge Pro 3.0 base cabinet. It took some doing, but it turned out great. I've got some pics below.

If anyone is interested in doing the same, I shot a video as well:

Question please. If a wall mounted base cabinet was lag bolted to the studs per instructions would it be able to support the weight of a full sink of water? I'd want to avoid legs if at all possible

Here's a great series of posts from Ziyman.

I was hoping to have an update by now in regards to having the cabinets installed. Unfortunately my help has been pushing me off for a couple days. Hoping maybe tonight I'll have some help, fingers crossed

I did take a quick video a few weeks ago of when I got everything unpacked.
link

Finished all the little things I could do on my own. Repositioned my compressor and got it wired up again, trimmed out the ceiling and framed out and trimmed the windows and doors. So I brought everything over and put them in position. Going to try to get them on the wall today

NewAge quotes a 600 pound capacity for the 2 door base cabinet. You'd have to consider the extra capacity from attaching to the cabinet next door and having the worktop extend across more than one cabinet.

I'd still go with feet in the front to help support the weight of a full sink. Once you cut into the cabinet NewAge you've voided the one year guarantee.

You talking a single cabinet? Or a few mounted together? I've stood on top of mine to mount a hose reel and do other work.

I weigh as much as 27 gallons of water.

It would be a double base unit mounted to the cabinet on the left with no cabinet on the right. Are yours wall mounted? Since there is no warranty once you cut the cabinet I could see adding some additional cantilever style support struts inside the cabinet.

I'm wrapping up a major garage remodel/addition and have been seriously considering getting some NewAge cabinets as I move back in.

I guess I'm a little confused as to your distributor relationship. Is there any advantage in purchasing from you v/s the NewAge shopping site? Or are the two sites functionally the same thing?

The main advantage in purchasing from my website is I can offer any set NewAge puts together at the best sale price available during the year. As a distributor I can't show or advertise any sale price that is not in that month's list of sale items.

Sale prices get me a gross profit of 12%, after the 3% my credit card processing service charges my net is 9%. No matter who you purchase your cabinets from they come from NewAge's warehouses. NewAge does all the shipping and that cost is built into my prices. I can match any price from those retailers who are in my price structure. The only retailers that get a better price are Costco and Sam's Club.

The advantage for NewAge is sales from a customer base that NewAge didn't have to establish. I've been posting on Garage Journal for 8 years. When you do an internet search for NewAge cabinet reviews, Garage Journal is one of the first sites that come up. That's based on being an established source of reviews.

The advantage for me is that 9% profit goes into my bank account. :rocker:

Thanks for supporting small business.

This post is from ZMotorsports out in Utah.

Here are my freshly installed New Age Pro 3.0 overhead cabinets installed over my work benches. I installed a total of four over the 12' workbench and two over the 6' workbench between my toolbox and lathe.

Again, I have these on my Shop Projects 2.0 thread but seeing as how these are the last piece of the puzzle on my shop/RV garage build, I figured I would post them here as well to show the completed product.

Two cabinets hung over the 6’ bench.

Thanks for the straight-forward information and quick response. I might be PMing you with a few questions if you don't mind. Probably after a session with the tape measure in my new space.

Note these are the Bold 3.0 series cabinets. They have an 18" deep worktop and 24" wide base cabinets. Built of 24 gauge sheet metal. Think of them as 7/8 scale Pro series cabinets.

Well the New Age cabinets have been in for about a month and a half and I love them. I went with the Bold Series and you'll see the arrangement I opted for in the photos below. I've also added some Wall Control metal pegboard for storing some car cleaning tools. I'd like to get a few shelves put up to display and organize a bit more on that wall, but for now the space is taken up with some of my old car show awards and display boards. I also changed up the light switch near the door to include a plug for my GUV. I like this much better than the cable stapled to the wall and leading to the other socket as it was in the past. I'm also testing out some RaceDeck FreelFlow tiles below my wall of cabinets to see how I feel. i bought enough to try and gauge how they'll space length and width wise across the floor.

This is a very good review and includes unpacking photos. NewAge cabinets are well packed. No one wants damaged cabinets, most of the damage my customers have had comes from shipping. These ship as freight less than full truck loads. Anyway the guys name is Uncle Bob. It's worth it to go back and read his thread all the way through.

Overall the quality on these is VERY nice, not perfect, but very nice. The cabinet shells are square within a pretty tight tolerance, the doors swing well, the drawers roll nice. Many of the reports I’d read talked about damage, mostly in shipment, but that NewAge was very good about replacement. The kicker of course is the time delay waiting for replacements. That did have me somewhat concerned, but I ordered my delivery for sooner than I planned to install, so figured I’d built in some stall time. As it turns out I had no shipping damage. There were a couple of nicks in the cardboard packaging, but none ended up with damage to the contents. There were a couple very small dents on a couple of the cabinets, but my guess is those were done at the factory as the boxes showed no sign of damage in those areas. The only dents, two of them, that ended up visible are in the edge of each of the two stainless bench tops. Again, the boxes showed no sign, but the stainless had small dents. This is one of the few areas of negativity I have about this product. If I were to order any more of these with bench tops I’d probably go for the pressed bamboo. The stainless is very thin, folded around a composite core. It will dent very easily as time goes bye. Expecting this, I didn’t bother to contact NewAge for replacements as normal usage will likely result in as bad or worse wear and tear damage.

These puppies are stout!! I’m very glad I opted for the 18 ga. I can’t imagine I’d have been happy with the thinner material. In day to day use over the past couple months they’ve performed very well, doors and drawers open and close with ease. The shelves adjust to enough locations that it’s easy to configure for max storage alignment, and they will take the weight of a good size load, especially the lockers since they are very good size. The bottom of the upper and lower cabinets is set down into the cabinet shell which is a function of the design of the shell. I’m sure it makes for a price friendlier manufacturing cost, but does require lifting items on that level to get them out the door. The drawers are a true full extension which is very handy, and if you have experience, not all drawers that claim to be full extension actually are.

Delivery went very well, the driver was on time and courteous. He willingly drug them up my somewhat long driveway to the area in front of the garage doors. He would have put them in the garage, but he was here the same day as the moving van and the garage was a staging area for household items at that moment. The moving guys helped me move the three pallet loads into the garage later that day. From there I did the rest of the movement and installation all by myself. It would have been easier to have a helper who you could work with, especially for hanging the uppers, but I’ve done that sort of thing enough times by myself that I’ve devised methods to get it done single handedly. At my age it’s not as easy as it used to be, but still doable. I’d read some complaining about mounting holes from individual cabinet to cabinet not lining up, but I had no such issue with the exception of one of the 2.0 cabinets having slightly misaligned holes. It had a couple other very small finish/design features different from the other 4 similar cabinets, so my guess is it was built in a different facility. It appears to not be an issue with the current 3.0 product. I didn’t keep close track of my time, but I’d say I have approximately 24 hours of labor involved in the unpackaging, minor assembly, and installation. I’m kind of fussy about this sort of thing, and a fair bit of that time was spent in aligning and shimming for uneven walls. One of the potential problems with a longish assemblage like this is dealing with “waves” in the walls. Again, if I’d had a skilled assistant it may have gone a bit more quickly.

All in all I’d say I got good value, and based on use so far, I should get good service from these. They look very nice in place and even with the 22” tall (short?) overheads being a bit smallish they do swallow a lot of stuff.

The pictures show all 20 pieces I received on three pallets. The rest of the shots give you an idea of how they load the smaller pieces in the lockers in order to make the shipping size more compact, and give you an idea of the huge pile of packing material you will end up with when the job is done. The other shots give you an idea of partial and then completed install. I would happily recommend these products to an informed buyer.

New post from gtsgarage. Nice set of cabinets dude. I've got a video on building up a 2 base unit rolling workstation.

Hey all.

As many here say I’ve been a long time reader and just recently stated posting.

I live in California and don’t really work with my hands at work but I love working in the garage, on cars and around the house.

I just moved into a nice big garage, 3 car with 12ft ceilings. I had a hand made work bench at my last house and wanted to upgrade to something nicer.

I landed on Newage Pro cabinets which fit the space I have perfectly. Went with the 9 piece set and added two tool cabinets and bamboo bench on casters.

From Gerald O's thread. Note the extended front legs, you don't have to do this. The cabinets can be mounted directly to the wall, but if your interested in extending the adjustable feet, read the rest of this thread.

Made a small bit of progress, but the cold weather has slowed me down. Cabinets are up on the tiled side. The brick stem wall in the back wall juts into the garage by 4". I wanted to mount the cabinets against the wall so I had to raise them up 9" and set the back side up on the ledge. Then I made some 6" extensions for the leveling feet in the front.

I have a question about the 5-drawer base cabinets... what are the internal dimensions of the drawers? I have seen conflicting info on NewAge's site.

This is from 2015 and TonkaJoe. These are the older series of Bold cabinets. Note the 3 drawer base cabinets and taller upper wall cabinets. Those are not made any more. NewAge doesn't keep the older styles, the only way to pick up the taller wall cabinets is to find them on craigslist.

So I know this is an older thread but I wanted to let people know about my positive experience with NewAge Product's customer service recently as I couldn't find anything on this topic.

Back in the spring I ordered this 12pc set from these guys and was extremely pleased with the product, they've been nothing shy of great since I bought them. c42b2bfd5f008b154753f9d7ca9c0ff0.jpg

Recently I decided to purchase one of the new work benches that they are offering, I ordered the 6' version for the opposite wall of my shop where my large power tools are for a price tag of $327.68 taxes in.. this will house my 6" vise permanently, and once on casters be mobile both in my shop and outside along with adding some spare room for larger projects. Ordered the bench from Costco.ca and recieved it within a timely manner of 7 business days delivered by UPS.

Upon removing the packaging I was extremely disappointed to find that a forklift had damaged ( dented and scratched) 2 of the main rails which support the work top. The next morning I called NewAge Product's head office to inform them of my situation. I had taken pictures etc so that I could prove the damage etc, but instead I was simply asked for my order number and a confirmation of who I was.

Customer service was very polite and quick, they immediately sent another replacement order out through UPS, notified Costco.ca of the problem and sent me a confirmation email complete with details of the transaction instantly!.

The best part was that instead of being required to return the damaged bench when UPS came back to bring me the new one,( which I assumed was routine) they told me to simply keep it if I could find a use for it or just incase the next order came damaged in some way I could hopefully swap out a part or two. I ended up with two benches for the price of one with zero hassle, and more concern and assurance than anything that they would be able to provide me with a flawless product this time around.. This is hands down some of the best customer service I have ever recieved from a company!

Hat's off to you NewAge product's, you definitely gained my respect, support, and earned a returning customer!.

Keep up the amazing work ladies and gentlemen! [emoji122] [emoji1]

This is a great review of the Pro wall cabinets. Lots of detail shots. If you have the time read the complete thread. The cabinets are from the Pro series 2.0, the series 3.0 have double wall doors instead of the pegboard stiffener shown. The piano hinges have been replaced with soft closing European hinges. Here's a link to the product page, scroll down a bit for this video.

A recent Hot Deal post by a GJ member, TheWhiteMamba, about NewAge cabinets set the wheels in motion to get my garage organized. 19 wall cabinets were delivered last week. I took the week off to put up french cleats and mount the cabinets. I figured I'd post up a quick review.

IMG_0846.JPG

The Reader's Digest version - I'm very, very happy with them. I can recommend the cabinets and ordering from ShopStorageCabinets.com. I do not recommend ordering these from Sears if they ship with UPS due to shipping damage. Long version starts now...

After a Sears fiasco, I ordered the cabinets from shopstoragecabinets.com. John was phenomenal to deal with and is GJ member. He answered my questions, sent me an email invoice while we were on the phone, and placed the order the same day. No fuss, no muss.

NewAge is based in Canada but has dealer/distribution network in the US. I spoke with them with a series of questions before placing my order. Their reps, Rene and Carl, were knowledgeable and on-point.

IMG_0845.JPG

The cabinets are the Pro Series. They're welded 18 gauge steel and powder coated. COO is China. The exact specs from the NewAge website are:

  • Dimensions: 28"H x 28"W x 14"
  • Weight Capacity: 200 lbs.
  • Fully welded frame made from 18 gauge steel
  • Two steel shelves adjustable in 5 inch increments
  • Shelf weight capacity of 100 lbs.
  • Perforated back panel for easy wall mount installation
  • Steel pegboard on interior door panels for extra tool storage space
  • Fully lockable for maximum security

The cabinet manual says cabinet capacity is 160lbs (shelves are 30lbs and the bottom is 100lbs). Not sure why the discrepancy exists. The cabinets weigh about 75 lbs with the shelves installed. With 18 gauge metal, they are stouter than I'll ever need in my hobby garage. Having handled 19 of the cabinets, I can say the fit up and welds are consistently good. The bottom and top are spot welded and the back is mig welded in 3-4" intervals.

IMG_0848.JPG

The cabinets are powder coated and are available in black/grey or charcoal/taupe color combinations. The powder coating seems to scratch easier than I thought it would. Not sure if its a thickness problem or the type of powder coat. The exterior finish is consistently good. The interior finish is occasionally wrinkled where someone went heavy with the powder coat. Not a significant nit for me.

IMG_0849.JPG

The 2 shelves can be adjusted using the punched tabs. The shelves are re-enforced underneath with a 3" 18 gauge channel. The doors are mounted using piano style hinges and pop rivets at 5" intervals. One interesting feature is the perforated metal on the inside of the door.

IMG_0847.JPG

The magnetic catches, both top and bottom, close the doors securely. The locking mechanism turns smoothly. I won't use the locks but I wish I had asked if it was possible to key them all the same.

IMG_0850.JPG

NewAge includes lag bolts and fender washers for attaching to stud walls and bolts for attaching the cabinets to one another. I went with my own hardware for the french cleats.

IMG_0855.JPG

Each cabinets has 4 plastic plugs (2 on each side) that protect the cabinet sides when mounted side by side. These plugs can be removed to bolt the cabinets together.

IMG_0851.JPG

Shipping was done through a 3rd party from NewAge's warehouse. The cabinets arrived wrapped on 2 pallets with shock sensors showing the pallets hadn't been dropped. Never seen that before. After unwrapping, the boxes were in all good condition. Some of the shelves had come loose during shipping scratching the interior, especially the ones shipped upside down.

20140307_145359.jpg

While I was around back unpacking the cabinets, UPS dropped off an order from Sears that wasn't cancelled. The cabinet was dented and scratched but the frame was not bent despite the abuse. So I'd recommend finding another supplier that does not ship with UPS. This one is going back to Sears.

I don't get many after photos. Selling on the internet it seems those who had good experiences don't normally comment. I can see the point, you search for the best price hoping the company made a pricing mistake, never expecting to purchase from that supplier again.

Here's what I received from a recent customer.

"The pictures go along from chaos in the garage to it being complete. After moving, I haven’t been able to put my truck in the garage. It’s bad when you have a 4-car garage half full of boxes.

Last night is the first time I’ve had my truck in a garage in almost a year. I still have to organize some, but the cabinets are fantastic. You are welcome to use any of the pictures and let me know if there is anything specific you’d like me to provide.

Thanks again."

Before and after pictures. Customer went with the white pro 3.0 series of NewAge cabinets. The doors and drawers are platinum and the cabinet boxes and interiors are white. He wrapped the corner with cabinets leaving space for under the worktop storage and stools.

Two lockers 3 wall cabinets a corner wall cabinet 1 tool cabinet and one multi-use base cabinet. A 84" and 56" bamboo worktop and a 24" corner worktop. You're looking at about 2500 bucks worth of cabinets total.

I've started a cleanup of my garage. I ordered Newage's new cabinet line and I can't say enough how happy I am with them. This new line is what they call their mobile set where the base cabinets are on wheels and the two end wall cabinets I'm going to hang them on the wall.
Just unpacked them today and started assembling the bottom cabinets. I won't be hanging the wall cabinets yet as I want to move some plugs so they aren't behind the cabinets.

Oh dang, these are pretty sweet. Is it possible to pickup from Vancouver, WA if I live close in OR to help prevent shipping hassles? Or is that not where the shipping hub is located?

NewAge is adding some new cabinets to the Pro 3.0 series. A taller wall cabinet, a roll around locker cabinet and base cabinet with a stainless steel sink. These should be available around May 1st.

How tall are the new wall cabinets? I'm assuming you're talking about the upper cabinets? The current upper cabinets are too small for my needs and have been preventing me from ordering for a long time.

Is the 25% off sale right now on the site a good deal?

That's the best pricing so far this year. I get the same pricing as most of the other retailers. Only Costco and Sam's club get better pricing. If you see a sale price that's the best I can do and returns me a 6% profit right now. If there's a set that isn't on sale add it to a quote and I'll give you the sale price instead of the retail.

Thanks for your interest in our products.

Picked up a set of New Age Pro series cabinets from Costco right before Xmas. Everything went pretty smoothly with delivery. I know they specify curbside delivery- but I am about 500ft. off road- but driver was cool and dropped off infront of my garage. Everything arrived with no damage.

As for the cabinets I like them a lot. 18G steel, soft close drawers, everything is built real nice. I don't use my garage as a main work shop like a lot of others here, mainly to put around in, clean the cars etc. but still wanted something nice for storage. Overall I would recommend these cabinets, I know they have been discussed numerous times on the forums here, but wanted to add to the satisfied customer list. The only thing I wished was different- is the work bench is not a full 6ft. with this setup there is clearly room for one.

Thanks for the review. I think they wanted to leave plenty of room to maneuver the workbench into place.

NewAge is bringing on a couple of new cabinets in the Pro 3.0 series. The sink base cabinet has an integrated Stainless Steel Sink and Faucet that includes a garden hose attachment for the faucet.

The tall wall cabinet is 32-1/4" tall 28" wide and 14" deep. That's another 4-1/4 inches taller than the standard wall cabinet.

The mobile locker is built to fit inside the tall locker, it's 60" tall 28" wide and 22" deep. The mobile locker will take up the same footprint as a base cabinet which also has a 28" wide by 22" deep base.
