I've ordered from them a few times. My thoughts:
Product
- purchased quite a few open stock pieces, some of which had shelf hangers or labels attached, some of which had no packaging / labels. In all cases they were carefully wrapped for shipping, and the items themselves showed no shelf wear.
- there's been a few sets of things I've purchased, which packaging was in good shape for, although I really wouldn't have cared about packaging.
Shipping
- I'm in Canada, and didn't find their shipping all that cheap. It is calculated based on weight, so it does tend to overcharge. They told me later that if I know what I'm ordering will fit in a flat rate box, to request that, and they'll refund the overcharge, but you have to ask...
Customer Service
- first contact wasn't good - no response to first inquiry, second inquiry was just "use the website"
- my first order was better - they threw in and item that I asked about that wasn't on their website but was on their Ebay store for free, because the shipping overcharge covered it, and shipped the order quickly.
- second and third orders were less impressive - they took their time in shipping, and when their Paypal wasn't working they didn't honour the discount code on CC orders even though the website accepted it.
- their website isn't great, especially because items aren't grouped all that well under categories. Also don't quite understand why they don't offer shipping to Canada for Ebay orders, just through their website.
- haven't had any issues with items not in stock, but it's not surprising they have issues with that, it must be difficult keeping stock between website/Ebay/storefront. It is annoying, as items I've wanted to order have just disappeared when they seemd to have lots of stock, but I wanted to wait to order until I had enough stuff on the list to justify shipping.
Overall I think that, like most overstock / end of line / closeouts, you have to be careful about what you choose to buy, but they have been good for filling out some pieces in my set. Generally the prices on open stock items seems to be about equal to what you'd pay per piece as part of a set, which is a good deal if you're filling in missing pieces, although less spectacular if you're buying singles instead of a set.
Honestly a lot of what I bought was quite discretionary - some of it I may never use, some of it will come in handy at some point, so I guess it's arguable whether it was a good deal for me to buy or not.
