1-1/8" Ratcheting 6 point wrench/spanner

do any of you know who would produce a ratcheting or combi ratcheting wrench 1-1/8" but must have 6 point head (not the usual spline or 12 point).
Its for servicing large food processing machinery.

I check Wright's flare nuts, Lang's laminated (the original) ratcheting wrenches, just searched the size on harryepstein.com, searched via Google for lesser known brands, and looked at Proto. SK doesn't go high enough either.

Good luck. Do you not have access for a socket and ratchet?

they still sell these, interchangeable head inserts for whatever size you need. mine is 1-7/16 and cost me $5 at an auction. I looked up the brand, they are not cheap, couple hundred for the handle and another couple for the 6pt insert. super heavy duty though.

google Lowell wrench co. there are distributors out there.

last pic, I made an insert so I can use it as a 3/4" ratchet...

I also found this gearwrench pass through set in 6 point that may work out, have any of you used this one, would it hold up in an industrial environment?

I was going to post the Gearwrench pass thru option last night but figured I'd wait to read more about the specifics of your needs.

I have an inexpensive set of pass-thru sockets that I use very rarely so I can't really comment on holding up in an industrial environment.

There is a sort of comprehensive pass through socket thread somewhere here on Garage Journal that might have some information for you. I'll see if I can find it.

I have a set in 3/8". Its a nice set that I really just don't use. In theory it's a stronger set up than a standard ratchet socket combo because the force is applied around the socket instead of threw the drive end. I would assume as long as these bolts you are going after are with in 1/2" drive torque range, you should be fine.

I know you dont want spline drive, but they work. My 36mm proto reverse ratchet wrench has loosened of a lot of m24 10.9 torqued at 480 ftlbs

I have a set in 3/8". Its a nice set that I really just don't use. In theory it's a stronger set up than a standard ratchet socket combo because the force is applied around the socket instead of threw the drive end. I would assume as long as these bolts you are going after are with in 1/2" drive torque range, you should be fine.

I disagree that the mechanism is be stronger. You are essentially dealing with a reversible ratcheting wrench, which are not known for being super strong. Its just a tiny little pawl ratcheting on on a fine tooth gear. From fiddling with the GW pass through set I had, in betting they are not as strong as the largest comparable ratcheting wrench compared to the largest size socket in the set.

I sold off my set. They work... But seemed chinsy and gimmicky more that anything. I would not want to trust it in an industrial environment, or using day in and day out.

Just to update this one folks. I got the Lowell wrench this week, it's quite the beast and apparently it's still the same design as used to service Sherman tanks in WW2.

Agreed, with no reference for scale that does not look like 1.125. Clearly it is as the head is stamped as such.
