Currently I normally use pure for AC and 2% ceriated for steels. Has anyone used Lanthanated for everything? and how does it do.

My main materials are mild steel, stainless, and aluminum. Figured it'd be easier to just have one.

I used to use lan on everything, but switched to 2% thoriated for steel
because its a lot cheaper, and works just as good if not better.
Heck, thoriated works good for Aluminum too (with an inverter machine anyway).

@ CNC: You surely know you're not supposed to sharpen Th. tungsten on a (dry) grinder, right?

@ bronconut: Pure tungsten is used for AC (Ally welding), try Ce or La and they'll last longer.

@ csmitty: Not much of practical difference between Ce or La, might depend on welder as well. Buy a few and try them.

Just need to get my central vacuum system hooked up to my machines.

Mines a Maxstar 200. I've got some ceriated and pure that came with it. Probably just use up the ceriated for now since I can't really do AL right now. Gonna try to get my hands on a Dynasty but the deal on this one was to good to pass on.
