I figured I'd put together a "garage makeover" thread about our 1 car attached garage. To bring everyone up to date, we bought the house in the Fall of 2006 after my grandfather passed away. He hadn't been much for maintenance up to that point so alot of work was ahead of us. But luckily for us, thats what I do for a living. I've done all this work slowly over the last 3+ years among many other house projects. I finally figured I was at a point where I could concentrate on the garage again and get it finished. This little 1 car garage will have to do until I get my detached garage/shop built. On to the pics:

Nice transformation. That reminded me of my garage when I started. I think we had / have the same shade of "70's garage green" on the walls when starting. I still have one more wall that needs attention though.

Nice work on making a clean, workable, useful space.

Thanks.

Haha... Yeah my grandfather seemed to have used that "70's garage green" on the entire garage at some point. Walls, ceilings, trim.......

Wow looks really nice. What are those white cabinets you have in there. Particulary the wall mounted ones. Something you could pickup from Lowes or Home Depot? I just had an idea when I saw them.

Your garage turned out really nice, what an improvement. I really dig the brick work in your house too. It almost has a randomness about it, but at the same time a on purpose look too.

Thanks...

Actually my wife and I already had the tall "closet" type cabinet on the left. I got the other 6 wall cabinets from a job where a lady told us to throw them away. So I grabbed those for free. But, yes, you could pick these same type of cabinets up at a local home store. They are just particle board/melamine cabinets with adjustable shelves inside.

Are you talking about the concrete block work in the garage or the brown stone on the exterior?

Thanks everyone!!! Its coming along nicely......

Stopped by Sears Hardware yesterday and found some nice thick rubber 36"x24" Craftsman Anti-Fatigue Mats for only $6.97 ea. I thought I read the tag wrong, but it said "while quantities last, regularly $39.99". So I grabbed two of them. I'm thinking of going back and buying the rest in stock....lol.

Also got the dark brown stripe done last night to divide the two tan colors.

3/30/10, dark brown stripe painted, Craftsman floor mats-

Thanks...

Not much progress this weekend on it as it was beautiful outside. So I was washing the cars/trucks and doing yard work.

Got out my Xmas present and finally put that to use polishing the wheels on the Mustang:

Just a great job.

Really added value to your space.

Like those under counter lights.

The space is light, bright and organized, enjoy your summer in your "new" garage.

nice work on the garage, looks like your making good use of the space you have. Quick question for you: what type of globe are in those fittings you have put in?

Thanks.

Not sure which lights you're talking about... But, the ceiling fixtures are 6" Recessed can lights and just have 65 watt indoor flood light bulbs. The undercabinet lights are Xenon bulbs that came in them. They were just in a pack of 3 at Lowe's. We use them all the time in kitchen remodels.

And, I just have 65 Watt incandescant bulbs in them.

So far the tools are limited. I only have my air tools in one of the cabinets so far and my car cleaning supplies in another. One will be for oil/filters/maintenance items. Also, I'll be moving my Craftsman toolbox from my dads shop here and putting it in the garage soon. The taller "closet" on the left has my creeper and 2 jack stands in there to keep them outta the way.

Well... no new updates yet!

But, this weekend I'll be pulling the car out of the garage and setting up tables/chairs for our daughters 1st b-day/BBQ. Figured it'd be a nice clean space for guests to sit if they want.

I've been busy with other exterior painting/maintenance projects trying to get ready for this party. Amazing what I can get done when there is a deadline set!!! haha. I'll get back on the garage soon!
