1 piece vs 2 piece bit sockets

One piece tend to be the lower line.
Blue point is mainly a 1 piece bit socket. Snap-On offers 2 piece which means that should you mangle the bit, it can be driven out and repalced and pressed back in (or the holding pin can) and the bit replaced, saving the socket portion.

I have found over the years that the 2 piece are stronger than the 1 piece. I have some Lisle sockets and they will take care of most things but if you encounter a tough fastener they will most likely shear off. I have twisted a few off over the years. The 2 piece are higher cost but well worth the money and will let you get the job done. I prefer the 2 piece.
Every US made torx and hex socket I own seems to be simply mediocre. I've tried the one and two piece set ups as well. My opinion, Lisle sockets are basically ****. I have a few of their other things, they don't scream quality but they still get the job done. But not their torx stuff.
For torx I have had excellent luck with the Harbor Freight one and two piece designs. For those who work on Volvos you know all about the T45 holding the timing belt tensioner on. The HF one piece T45 with a thin profile ratchet works excellent removing it without stripping it out.

Would the exception be drain plugs for gears lubes ?
I tend to reach for my SO 1 piece more than the 2 piecers

Craftsman's torx bit sockets are two piece design,can't get a replacement bit for them.Snap On no longer uses a roll pin to hold the bit in place,the roll pin liked to work itself out.Now a press fit.

Just watch the cheaper 2 piece designs. The bit isn't always fitting tightly to the socket portion and always seems to have a bit of play. This is for the roll pin type, not the press fit.

I prefer the 2 piece, never had any luck with the alternative.

never had any trouble with either style, but i have seen alot of sheared 1 piece. i have snap on two piece bit sockets, they work great, havn't broken one yet.
