10 & 12 MM Extra Deep Socket?

I was watching a toolbox tour on Youtube and a guy had a extra deep chrome 10mm socket. I went looking for them and I'm not having much luck finding them. I found a guy on eBay from the UK who has them but I'd rather find something here in the states. Maybe they're called something else and that's why I can't find them?

This is more of a want than an actual need. :thumbup:

I've purchased from this company it takes around two weeks. I'm unaware of a US sales outlet for them.

I have to decide between these and the Koken's. I would love to try the Koken's because I don't own anything by them and I know lots of people here rave about them. :thumbup:

I know snap on makes extra deep 10mm but 12mm I have not seen and my Cornwell socket is a bit longer than my snap on for Toyota tbelts at times is only thing that comes to mind where I needed them

Funny I was wondering around franks tools a couple nights ago and came across these. It's not all that often but franks does run specials from time to time that has the koken stuff at a decent price. If you're not in a hurry maybe reach out to them and see if they'll give you a heads up.

KTC makes a B3LL-10 and B3LL-12

If you want the highest quality, buy the Ko-Ken.

Franks ships through USPS from overseas and I think deals in both.

Or just use a pass-through set.

I did the weld them together to do a Mercedes bumper cover once. Then the snap on guy came in with the set of 1/4 drive super deep chrome 10 and 11mm.

I know Snap On makes some but I dont know the part number off the top of my head. They make a set of 4 that I bought to do hose clamps, the set contains 1/2, 7/16, 10 and 8mm in 3/8's drive. Snap On also makes reducers that you can put into your chrome sockets.

In my experience, in the 1980's, GM used valve cover bolts with studs extending a huge amount. I then bought the Snap ON 10mm and 8mm chrome extra deep sockets. They are 12 point also.

Somewhere at sometime I got one of these in a used lot of sockets-

It is a 1/2" drive, 1/2" 6-point socket that is about 5" long.

This below stolen from the SO site about it's use-
"Use to remove or replace fuel tank retaining strap nuts.
• Also has applications on emergency brake adjustment nuts and stabilizer retainers."

I have used it but I can't say I ever needed it.
Guess I need to wrench more. :)

Did you drill out the drive end on the outside socket? Otherwise how is this different from using an extension and a deep socket?

Just curious.

I forgot to mention that ast just came out with 10mm for bmw that is more cost effective than truck brands

Bumper covers. With a shorter socket and extension there is a chance to trap or drop your tools in the bumper as the socket is backing out with the fastener.

No I didn't have to drill anything out.
The hole is big enough all the way through that no further modification was needed. If I used an extension the stud in question would hit the extension. With the two sockets welded together it passes all the way through.

Applications are 8mm on older Acura drip rail mouldings. 10mm on Lexus drip rail moldings, Mercedes Benz rear bumper covers. 11mm on some Ford rear bumper covers.

I don't use them a lot but I do use them.
