Suppose you had 100 dollars to buy tool(s) with.
What would you buy? Something to build your set around? Something large to cover most needs? Something just random?

You get the point. Post up what it would be, links would be awesome aswell.

Thanks,
V

Probably not very at the given price point. But I'm curious as well now. :)

$100 won't buy anything large. But with $100 I would probably buy some bits for my SDS and SDS Max hammers.

Yeah, it's honestly just to see who values what mostly. Sets are out of the option really at 100, but who is to say you couldn't get a really good ratchet or something.

Hmmm. Not much I want at the moment. Got another Snap-on ratcheting screwdriver a few days ago, bought a F-80 ratchet today (really traded other ratchets for it). Got 1/4" and 3/8" metric swivel sockets in the past few weeks. Got a master series 2 bank box last week. I'm about filled up with tools at the moment.

I really need to get rid of tools, not get more. I sorted out a lot of stuff today, was home sick. Took the parts list of a 255 piece Craftsman set and filled all but 1 piece out of my spare Craftsman accumulation. Put together a Proto combination wrench set, and sorted out a toolbox full of other excess Proto to get rid of. Threw a few piles of Indestro, SK, Bonney, New Britain, Plomb, and P&C together to sell.

So: Don't know what I'd spend $100 on tools on. But, I bet I see something in the next month or two that I didn't know I needed! I'm a sucker for Snap-on or Proto that I don't already have.

I'd stuff it in my toolbox until the inevitable next tool I need. I have a fairly comprehensive set of all the basic tools. At this point I pretty much just buy tools for specific needs here and there. Sometimes these are fairly inexpensive, but often they are not.

I'm really itching for some Mac and Matco knurled socket extensions, so that would be my pick. Second pick would be a FR80.

You could certainly get a sweet ratchet for that.

That is more then likely what I would do. But I am just curious. Like there's so many threads of if money were no object what would you whatever. So I wanted to do the flip

I would purchase the Earthquake 3/8 drive impact wrench and a set of impact sockets that are shallow metric.

Do you already have tools? If so then why not put it in the bank and save t for a rainy day.
I do have some tools, but the point really was for one hundred what would you purchase from it. Not me

You know, for $100 I could use a set of coarse, fine and extra fine diamond hones. Get good DMT brand, and $100 would almost cover that.

I would look through my box and find whatever I'm missing out of sets, then shop ebay for those items to complete my sets.

I would probably get new drawer liners for my box, and probably get a new round of saw blades for my mitre saw and small trim saw.

I'd go for a snap on 1/4" drive universal joint to complete that set and I'd spend the rest on other tool needs like a new wire cup brush for the angle grinder, and a stack of cut off wheels.

OR...

Put it toward a Drill Doctor.

A little over budget but I just bought my first oscillating multi tool for $120ish and it's been a game changer in rebuilding my house.

I was trying to think of what I'd get and you made me think of it. I'd get a small selection of Bosch carbide OMT blades. Mine are finally getting worn out.

Yep. Things were a lot more fun when $100 bought me something I could actually use/needed. Now only the expensive stuff is left to buy.

Put in my wallet with the rest, see how many more I can collect. Side welding and fabrication I do, seems to grow 100 dollar bills no watering required.

However if you are asking the question without really knowing what to, waste on some entertainment ****.

A bunch of 8 and 10mm sockets. I can't speak for others, but those things disappear like nobody's business. It is terrible, I account for them every time I work on stuff, but then the next time I need them they are missing. I'm blaming gnomes, but who is to say.
