I’m getting ready to order my garage doors.

Who has 10 x 8 doors and can you post a picture of the style?

I’m looking for something like a recessed, beadboard, or carriage house style door. I was trying to design some Ammar doors online but they don’t show what a 10ft will actually look like.

Please post pictures of your 10x8 doors

Thanks

Haas American Tradition Series. 10’ wide x 9’ high, so close to your size.

I had to have my carriage doors made…9’ x 8’ IIRC. Cedar ply/trim on the outside and birch ply on the inside.

Read about them here: https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=415952

Sorry it's not a better picture. My old house 3 - 10×8. Steel Carriage house design with windows and hardware. Midland doors.

That’s basically what I went. I had a garage door guy come out yesterday and he’s the lead times he is telling me is crazy. 10-16 weeks for doors!

I ordered 8x12 doors for my building about 2 weeks ago. a couple of weeks before they had been telling me 4-6 weeks, by the time I ordered it was 10-12 weeks. I guess it's no big deal that the rest of the project has lagged behind because I'm still going to be stuck waiting on doors for a couple of weeks.

Looks like I’m getting haas doors and the lead time is 16weeks. I’m going to get the doors installed by the rep and he is going to install the tracks to follow my scissor trusses. He said it will still hang 12” away from the ceiling. Is there a way to get the door closer that maybe he doesn’t know about? I will install the garage door openers myself.

I got a few shop drawings to show the panel spacing. I’m undecided on what windows and if I should go the long panel or the short panel design.

Long panels, windows on right side garage door - matches your dormer windows.
Sorry that picture is not my garage. Here is my garage. 92607603-0CFA-485F-9279-68872DE7A99E.jpeg

Also here are the windows and the man/walk in door which will be on it.

The doors on my build are 10x8 - the wife decided she thought the magnetic hardware (on the outside) looked cheesy, so we did not add it.

Nice looking doors.now I’m second guessing if I should have gone with the short recessed panels like you.

I ordered the doors today. The rep called me telling me there would be a 20% increase in price started next week so I made the decision.

I went with the 3 over 3 windows and long panel.

I chose to skip the windows on mine. All my windows are low E and the up charge to include it in a panel of the garage door was too much. I did go with a 2” thick R19 door though. No regrets at all. This door is a 10x8 from Menard’s and quite heavy! Still don’t have a door opener on it and may never add one. It is a dedicated woodworking shop. Best of luck sir!

So I really like the doors you have so i made the last minute change. The door guy was able to switch the doors to the same short panel recessed as you have. Definitely a more timeless design. I’m putting the handles and hinges though. Thanks again for posting the pictures of your doors!

Cedar insulated doors made by a local shop.

I know OP has already made his decision, just giving ideas for anyone searching...
