Awesome building for the price. The DryVit outsulation is a nice way to spruce up old structures like this. Back in the Late 80's I worked for the West coast distributor for DryVit in Seattle, back then it was Seattle Wall Systems.
I delivered allot of custom shapes and building materials for some of the premium homes in the Pacific NW. I am excited to see what your finished plans are for this build.
I just read the whole thread myself. What a great find!! And you did a great job restoring it. I love the building, the cars and the whole deal. Good luck.
Doors look great! I like the stucco. Makes it look a little more up to date and I am glad you kept the brick letters. Are you converting any floors to be used as a home? I think that the top floor would be great with some sunlights.
Read the whole thread - I am amazed at your purchase, and your ability to try and conquer a heckuva project. I love old garages, it's great to see one coming back from the near-dead. Keep up the great work!
This has been my busiest year as far as business goes so I haven't had much time to work on the shop much however........
The top plates are mounted and trusses will be ordered this week to complete the roof.
I traded my neighbor electrician an old hot water pressure washer to install a 200 amp service in a week or so.
Also talked to the sewer authority and as luck would have it there is a lateral running to the building so once its time to hook up the sewer it shouldn't be too bad.
That thing's a beast. You should have no trouble with heating the place now, except, perhaps finding enough wood to satisfy that thing's appetite. Lookin good, show winter who's boss.
Love the size of the building and the amount of hard work you are giving it. Seen too many buildings just like this knocked down for lack of creativity. I can't wait to have a reason for something this size.
I think Will-Burt built alot of things over the years. I think mine is a Moncrief made in Medina, Ohio IIRC. I can guarantee one thing, if it's anything like mine, it'll crank out the heat.
