12-point Driveline Socket Sizes

Looking to get a universal impact extension set that's for driveline 12-point bolts.
Some kits are 4pc with 12mm, 13mm, 3/8" & 1/2" and some kits are like master kits from 8-17mm or whatever.

Was planning on getting the 4pc then I saw a ford intermediate shaft with 10mm 12-point heads. What sizes are out there on driveshafts and the like you've seen?

12mm 12pt on Ford.

I would be tempted to shop the metric Sunex set 8,10-17, plus a 3/4" and call it good.

Sunex 2625 set is an option too. I used that set on my truck (only needed the 12pt 12mm).

2625 has 10mm, 12mm, 13mm, 14mm & 1/2". I think they're for head bolts officially, but sockets are sockets - plus that's another reason you might need them.

Depending on your job requirements, 17mm 6point for Isuzu, 5/16 6point and 5/16 Allen for gm, inverted torx on sprinter vans, 21 mm and 22 for New flange style semi drive lines . Some old 1tons had Torx . 7/16 6 point gm 1 tons. Yes I remove a lot of drivelines. I drive a row truck for a living. 16mm and 18mm for some older izusu.

Not exactly a driveshaft, but older Hondas use 17mm 12pt on the flywheel and pressure plate.

fords of the last decade have been 10mm and 12mm but the 2020 model year super duties went back to 3/8

Just did u joints on a 2022 Super Duty and the bolts were 12mm 12pt

10, 12, 13, 14, 17, 19 for sure, plus 3/8 and 7/16 or 11. Etorx and torx head bolts, and hex heads as well. Basically anything the engineering dept can think of they use.

I have whole sets of 12pt… but I only remember using 12mm shallow and 30mm deep.

I have the 4 piece Cornwell set, I mostly use the 1/2" on class 5-8s. I need the new 18mm one that Matco has for the newer Endurant HDs.
