Thanks, snagged a couple. I can never seem to find one when I need one.

Thank you! Throwing these in the tool box for sure. Wifey seems to hide all of “her’s” when I need them.

On a lark I picked up a 4 pack of the above linked Sharpie pro markers and have been impressed with their staying power. I marked some oil guns some months ago and the markings are still like new where the standard markers wear off. More expensive and stink terrible but they work long term.

Working in a lab, Sharpie's are one thing I will never need to buy again! I actually brought a gallon bag full of them back to work last year because I had so many at home.

Pro-tip: They are very convenient for writing on glass, non-porous metal, etc. They don't wash off much with water but will wipe off cleanly with denatured alcohol, isoproyl alcohol, or acetone. At work, we will often write on windows, glass walls, etc. when brainstorming then just wipe it away with a spray bottle of alcohol.

Actually I found they bleed pretty badly on labeling when put into an autoclave. Switched over to Industrials and haven't had the same problem.

The tips seem to last longer before they get blunted to a nub as well. If you buy them by the box you only pay about 70 cents a piece. Occasionally Amazon has distressed boxes discounted to 50 cents a piece.

I haven't tried the industrials. That being said, I almost never write on my glassware before autoclaving because autoclaving polymerizes the sharpie ink making it nigh impossible to remove the ink entirely.
